Carolyn Archer Armor, 89, of Marietta, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 27, 1924, in Marietta, to Walter H. and Genevieve Reid Archer, Sr.
She was a 1942 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School. Carolyn was a lifetime member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. She was also a lifetime member of the Marietta Welfare League and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Richard, they had been married on Oct. 20, 1942; also by a son, Richard T. Armor, Jr. (Carol) of Marietta; four grandchildren, Pete Armor (Kathy), Angie Greathouse (Rick), Tony Armor and Bryan Armor (Valerie); five great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Greathouse, Brent Armor, Natalie Greathouse, Zackery Armor and Jessica Crosby; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Garry Ann and Ann Veon; and three brothers, Walter H., Jr., James R. and John W. Archer.
Funeral Liturgy, with Mass, will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 2, at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with the Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Sunday, June 1, at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home. Burial will be in New St. Marys Cemetery.
