Jerry Lee Cornell 65, of Vincent, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born Thursday, April 14, 1949, in Wood Co., W.Va., to the late Epsie Cornell.
Jerry was a U.S. Army veteran serving as a food inspector from 1972-1978 stationed in California, Virginia, and Japan. He retired from Marietta City Schools after 20-plus years. Jerry was a preacher for several congregations throughout Ohio and West Virginia, and was a member of Barlow- Vincent Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Davis Cornell; son, Ernie Cornell (Rachel) of Little Hocking, Ohio; daughter, Becky Treadway (Chad) of Sardis, Ohio; grandchildren, Ayden, Payge and Brody Cornell and Marissa and Jena Treadway; along with an uncle, Ray Cornell of Waverly, W.Va.; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Charles Aebi and David Newberry officiating. Burial to follow in Willow Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, at the funeral home.
