Ruby D. Welch, 85, of Beverly, Ohio, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly.
She was born Nov. 10, 1928, in Lumberport, W.Va., daughter of Okey F. and Winnie Creamer Roberts.
She was a homemaker and had operated the Hackney Store with her husband, Harry, for several years. She was also a real estate agent. She graduated from Beverly High School in 1946 and also attended the Grundy Bible College Institute in Grundy, Va. She was a longtime member of the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly.
She was married July 19, 1946 to Harry Welch, who died Dec. 2, 2006. She is survived by her children, Sharon Farnsworth and husband Wayne of Beverly, Jerry Welch and wife Victoria of Waterford, Richard Welch and wife Hoa of McConnelsville, Connie Cunningham and husband Dave of Amana, Iowa, Aaron Welch and wife Michelle of Orlando, Fla., and Courtney Mitchell and wife Marie of Brooklyn, N.Y.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a step brother, Delmar Hutchins of McConnelsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step mother, Della Roberts, who raised Ruby; a brother, Charles Roberts; and two sisters, Mary Jane Stacy and Thelma Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Fifth Street Church of Christ with Evangelist Zack Waite officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the Fifth St. Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad.
