Ray Wesley "Bud" Kidd Jr., 63, of Marietta, passed away Friday (June 13, 2014) at his residence.
He was born Saturday, Aug. 5, 1950, in Washington County, Ohio, to the late Ray Wesley Sr. and Dorothy Boyce Kidd. "Bud" was a 1968 graduate of Lawrence High School, served proudly in the U.S. Marines as a rifle expert from 1968 to 1972 and was stationed at An Hoa, South Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was a recipient of the Navy Accommodation Medal and Combat Medal for Valor. Ray was a life member of V.F.W. Post #5108 and former shift supervisor for Chevron Chemical Company.
"Bud" was a man of faith who loved his family, loved his land and loved his country. He worked hard for all three.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughter, Cindy; sons, Harold (Tiffany) and Malkom; sister, Kathy; devoted nephew, Wesley; and beloved dog, Snickers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Matthew.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (June 17) at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., with Roger Rush officiating.
Burial will follow in Moss Run Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank the Special Care Unit at Marietta Memorial Hospital as well as Dr. Parmer and Dr. Cockerham and the loving care of DaVita Dialysis staff and Dr. Hamarani. Also a special thank you to friend Dr. John Nash.
