Marjorie Hamilton Harper, 94, of Marietta, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence.
She was born Sunday, July 20, 1919, in Marietta, to the late Leroy and Criessie Hull Byer.
Marjorie worked at Marietta Memorial Hospital in the Dietary Department for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marietta, and was active in the A.W.B. Women's Group and the Church Choir. Marjorie was involved in the O'Neill Center serving as president of the O'Neill Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Juanita Eddy (Carroll); sons, Lawrence (Wanetta) and Gary (Laurel) Hamilton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous step-children and step-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester Hamilton in 1966 and Ernest Harper in 1977; brothers, William and Paul Byer; and a grandson, Michael Eddy.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, 1021 Pike St., Marietta. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m., Monday, June 23, at the funeral home.
