Carl William Alloway, 85, of Belpre, passed away to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Marietta Rehab Center.
Carl was born in Belpre, on Nov. 14, 1928, to the late Floyd V. and Sarah Grace Alloway.
Carl was an avid mechanic and carpenter who owned a service station with his father, and also worked at Ford Motor Co. in Cleveland, Ohio, and later at the Union Carbide in Belpre. Carl retired from Union Carbide in 1989. In addition to his love of working on cars and carpentry, his greatest love was first and foremost being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Carl leaves behind an incredible legacy, his loving wife of 64 years, MaryLou Alloway; sons, Carl Robert (Susan) Alloway, Belpre, and John Charles (Tammi) Alloway, Vincent; one daughter, Linda Lou (David) Gregg, Belpre; four grandchildren, Kris Farley, Scott LaCaria, Jennifer Chappell and Mathew Alloway; and five great-grandchildren, Jaden LaCaria, Ryan Farley, Jackson Farley, Juaquin Chappell and Allysen LaCaria. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Floyd Alloway; and two brothers, Floyd V. and Clyde H. Alloway.
Carl was a member of Friendship Ridge Christian Fellowship Church in Belpre, Ohio.
There will be no visitation or funeral at the request of Carl's wishes to be cremated.
