Samuel Dale Kiggans, 78, of Barlow, and formerly of Lowell, died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 12, 1935, in Dart, Ohio, to Lawrence Earl and Sarah Kuhn Kiggans, Sr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Sam had retired in 2000 from BFGoodrich, following 49 years of employment. He was a life member of VFW Post 5108 in Marietta.
Sam is survived by a son, Alan Kiggans (Wanda) of Hillsboro, Mo.; a daughter, Kathy Anderson (Kevin) of Barlow; daughter-in-law, Michele Kiggans of Barlow; grandchildren, Ryin Anderson, Lance Kiggans and Andrew Kiggans; brother, James "Jake" Kiggans of Florida; and sisters, Ethel Hopp and Lena Morgenstern of Lower Salem. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Alexander Kiggans, on July 30, 1994; a son, Jason, on Feb. 21, 2011; and three brothers, Robert, Douglas and Lawrence Earl, Jr.; and a sister, Ruth Blundell.
Graveside services were held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, on Friday, July 11, 2014, conducted by Lowell American Legion, Post #750.
