Larry Joe Quimby, 67, of Beverly, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Muskingum Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beverly.
He was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Marietta, son of Robert D. and Donna Jean Sherbourne Quimby.
He had owned and operated the Arco Station in Beverly for several years, and later was in the landscaping business in Florida. He graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1964 and joined the National Guard, and later served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a son, Luke Turnbach of Florida; two sisters, Cathy Quimby of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Sherry Saunders and husband Brian of Beverly; one brother, Robert Quimby Jr. of West Chester, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Daniel Quimby.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, with Pastor Karl Kesselring officiating. Burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery with military services at the grave. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the funeral home.
