Belpre Mayor Mike Lorentz, right, speaks with former Ohio Governor and Congressman Ted Strickland at a Friday night fundraising dinner in Marietta for Jennifer Garrison, the Democratic candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives 6th district seat. Garrison, pictured left of Strickland greeting a supporter, said Friday she plans to be more invested in her constituency than current 6th district Congressman, Republican Bill Johnson. “I’m running because I’m not satisfied with what I’m seeing in Congress,” she said. Strickland, who represented the 6th district for a decade, said he is confident Garrison is the woman for the job. “She is scary smart,” he told the crowd of nearly 100 people at Marietta College. Furthermore, Garrison will represent the true interests of hard-working Appalachians, Strickland said.
“I know this district, and I know its people, and that’s why I’m confident Jennifer is going to win,” he said.
