Bingo Sunday will benefit Troop 217
Bingo featuring Longaberger products will be held Sunday at the Barlow Fairgrounds dining hall to benefit Boys Scout Troop 217. Doors open at 1 p.m. and games begin at 2. Big Blue Picnic will be Friday at pavilion
The Big Blue Picnic sponsored by Warren Athletic Boosters, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the pavilion beside Warren football stadium with food, drawings, and a Meet the Fall Athletic Teams gathering.
Sewer repairs will limit access on road
The Marietta Wastewater Department will be making sanitary sewer repairs in front of 110 Rathbone Terrace on Wednesday. Access may be limited at times to allow for equipment and material access. Signs will be posted. Repairs are expected to be completed by Friday.

HSOV adopt-a-thon behind lodge on Sat.
The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley will hold an adopt-a-thon from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday behind Moose Lodge 1823, 169 Front St., Marietta. Those who attend can meet pets, talk to volunteers familiar with the animals and learn how to help at the shelter.
Crime watch group will host picnic today
The Harmar Hill Neighborhood Crime Watch Group will host its annual National Night Out crime prevention picnic at 6:30 p.m. today in the community building at Lookout Park. This event promotes police-community partnerships, crime, drug, and violence prevention, safety and neighborhood unity. Those attending are invited to bring a covered dish. The Neighborhood Watch Coordinators will supply hot dogs, drinks and paper products.
Rabies shot clinic at Barlow shelter
The Washington County Health Department will hold rabies shot clinic from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Barlow Fairgrounds Shelter in Barlow. The cost is $7 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in carriers. All animals must be at least 12 weeks old.
