Congratulations to everyone who organized and supported this year's EVE Inc. Benefit Auction Friday night. By all accounts, it was a huge success.
This year's event brought in more than $28,000 to support EVE and its ongoing efforts to help support victims of sexual and domestic violence. In most cases, that means helping women and children, but men can get assistance, too.
EVE's efforts reach out to all corners of our community. And Friday's successful fundraiser displays the Marietta area's commitment to lending a hand to neighbors in a difficult situation.
EVE officials are especially happy with Friday's above-average auction total because every dollar raised at EVE's major fundraiser is by about $3 in grants.
Normally, the auction -in its 32nd year - raises $20,000 to $25,000 so you can see why Friday's auction total is a welcome bonanza for EVE.
We think the auction's success is recognition of the need EVE fills in our community helping neighbors through a rough part of their lives. We are truly lucky to have EVE in Marietta and annual support for the auction demonstrates the community's recognition of a job well done in the past and the future.
