Krystal K. Carpenter, 34, of 220 Pennsylvania Ave. Apt. 1, was arrested Friday in the 500 block of Second Street for OVI, driving under suspension, driving left of center, and a red light violation. While Carpenter was being booked at the Washington County Jail, she was found to have a pill container containing pills in a body cavity. Carpenter was additionally charged with conveyance of drugs, possession of schedule II drugs and possession of schedule IV drugs.
Brittany M. Karcher, 27, of 309 Muskingum Drive, was cited Friday for driving under suspension, fictitious plates, and expired plates in the 300 block of Muskingum Drive.
Officers investigated the death Friday of a 76-year-old male at 833 Second St. The death is believed to be a result of natural causes.

Theodore Hoffert, 53, of 15725 State Route 821, Macksburg, reported Friday that sometime between Aug. 18 and 19, an unknown suspect(s) entered his unlocked vehicle and stole between $5 and $10 in change.
Leonard Wiggins, 88, of 830 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, was walking his dog along Mill Branch Road Friday when a neighbor's dog charged at him and attacked him and his dog. Wiggins suffered minor wounds to both hands and received treatment at Marietta Memorial Hospital's Belpre Emergency Room. Wiggins' dog received veterinary treatment for injuries suffered in the attack. The dog's caretaker, Sharon J. House, 53, of 764 Mill Branch Road, said she let the dog outside and it immediately charged at Wiggins. House will be issued a summons to appear in court for failing to confine/restrain a dog.
Charles M. Wasson, 85, of 107 Wyandotte Road, Marietta, reported Saturday he recently discovered a chain pulley was stolen from a barn on property he owns at 14330 State Route 821, Macksburg.
Bessie Schofield, 72, of 309 Simpson St., Marietta, reported Saturday she believes a family member stole 25 pills from a prescription medication bottle in her bedroom.
