Evelyn Louise Worstell, 74, of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 30, 1940, in Marietta, to Harry W. and Laura L. Broedel Alden.
Evelyn graduated from Marietta High School in 1958 and worked as a secretary for Greenleaf Landscapes, and was the former owner/operator of Town and Country Ceramics in Reno. She was a member of the Reno Christian Church, RSVP of Marietta, as well as the Clown Club, Ohio Society of Mayflower Descendants, American Legion Auxiliary Post #750 and past member of the Reno Volunteer Fire Department. Evelyn loved her grandchildren, the outdoors and traveling the United States, especially to Myrtle Beach.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gary A. Worstell, whom she married in 1960; sons, Allan and Brian Worstell; five grandsons; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Janet Heldman (Bob), Mary Dellinger and Dorothy Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will take place 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Reno Christian Church.
