Michael Fisher, 71, of Waterford, Ohio, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at his home.
He was born July 28, 1943, in Waterford, Ohio, son of Donald and Mary Lou Stollar Fisher.
He retired from AEP in 1998 after 32 years of service. He also had a machine shop and small engine repair business for many years. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1961. He coached the Marietta Savings softball team from 1975-1989, and they won a National Championship during his coaching time. He was a very avid hunter, loved NASCAR and was a member of the NQS Tractor Pulling Club.
He was married Oct. 8, 1982, to Elaine Brooker Fisher, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Melissa Fisher (Tim) of Waterford; an aunt, Norma Lang (Deb) of Marietta; mother-in-law, Audrey Brooker of Beverly; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 30, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, with Monsignor Robert Kawa officiating. Burial will be St. Bernard Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home.
