Keith Eugene ‘Mac’ McGregor

Keith Eugene "Mac" McGregor, 78, of Bloomfield, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Feb. 8, 1936, in Fleming. He attended Vincent School District and graduated in 1954. Keith was on the 1954 Vincent Bobcat basketball team, which took the Washington County title and went on to the semi-final regional tournament. For 40 years, Keith worked at Ormet. He served as a member of the AFL-CIO United Steel Workers Union. A unique soul, Keith was very funny. He enjoyed playing checkers. He was also an avid sports enthusiast and hunter with a great passion for the Cincinnati Reds and a love for his beagle dogs. Keith had wonderful neighbors, who were always there to help, and he was dearly loved by his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Keith is survived by his children, Sherry Destro (Joseph) of Markleysburg, Pa., Susan Francis (Kevin) of Marietta, Jennifer Maston (Jeff) of Marietta, Matthew McGregor (Kristina) of Belle Vernon, Pa., Andrew McGregor (Teresea) of McCloud, Okla., and Constance McGregor of Marietta; 11 grandchildren; his first great-grandchild is due in February; brother, Miles McGregor (Janice) of Vincent; sister, Emma Lou Welch of Columbus; and former wife, Shirley Roddy of Marietta.

In addition to his parents, Andrew Noble and Lulu Emma Lane McGregor, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lorrena June Porter, James McGregor, Ralph McGregor, Helen Lynch, Doris Reed, Mary Nichols, Loren McGregor, Kenneth McGregor, Virginia Combs and Margaret Gregory.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Private committal services will be held at the convenience of the family.
