The area's newest Dollar General is expected to open late this month or in early October along Ohio 7 just north of the Sandhill Road intersection in Reno.
"We're currently set to open at the end of September, and are planning a grand opening event during the first part of October, but it's all dependent on when the building construction is completed," said Jaclyn Dees, spokeswoman for Dollar General Corp.
She said the company, celebrating its 75th year of business this year, owns and operates 11,000 stores nationwide, and the new facility will be the sixth Dollar General to open in Washington County.

American Electric Power workers were installing a utility pole Thursday to service the new Dollar General store under construction along Ohio 7 just north of Sandhill Road in Reno.
Six to 10 employees will be hired for the new 7,300-square-foot store, including the manager, assistant manager and cashiers.
Reno resident Neil Gregory said the store opening is great news.
"People here are really excited about it," he said. "We won't have to travel into Marietta so much when we need something. I can't wait for it to open."

His wife, Jeanette Gregory, agreed.
"This is a real positive step for the township that will help the local economy," she said. "And it will be helpful for Newport residents, too, as they won't have to drive so far to get to a store."
Dees said Dollar General typically locates stores in areas with populations of less than 20,000.
"But some of our stores may be as close as three to five miles from each other, as we try to locate our facilities within a 10-minute drive for most of our customers," she said.
Marietta Township Trustee John Lankford said the Dollar General opening is welcome news.
"We were tickled to hear it, and they're already paving the parking lot," he said Thursday. "We've heard a lot of good things about Dollar General. And this project will help bring more tax dollars into the township."
He noted the Reno area is continuing to grow, with a current population around 5,500.
"There's a lot of growth out that way, and national retail businesses always tend to locate in growing areas," added Charlotte Keim, executive director of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce.
She said the Dollar General's location will make it much easier for Reno area residents to shop for basic necessities.
"Dollar General is meeting the needs of that community, and in the longer run they're making a substantial investment in that property and this region," Keim said.
Dees said Dollar General opened 650 stores nationwide in 2013, and this year the company will open 700 new stores.
Based in Goodlettsville, Tenn., Dollar General is the largest "small-box" discount retailer in the U.S., according to the company's dollargeneral.com website.
