2nd person hit by train in southern W.Va. dies

RODERFIELD, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia State Police say a second person hit by a train in McDowell County has died.

State police tell media outlets that 24-year-old Ruth Mullins of Raysal died Sunday morning at a Charleston hospital.

State police say Mullins fell 60 feet after she was hit by a train while walking with two companions on a Norfolk Southern bridge. The accident occurred last Thursday night near Roderfield.

The train also hit 20-year-old Kenneth Neace of Roderfield. Neace died at the scene.

Twenty-year-old Randy McNeely of Hensley jumped from the bridge and suffered minor injuries. Hensley has been charged with trespassing.
