On February 14, 2016 at 10:59 am Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at 3712 School House Road, in Belpre Township. Upon arrival Deputies discovered John Hammond, age 46, of the above address had scratch marks on his face, sore ribs, and a large knot on the back of his head. John Hammond stated his wife Kimberly, age 46, had been drinking and after a verbal argument struck and scratched him in the face. She then hit him in the back of his head with a mini baseball bat and knocked him unconscious. John stated while he was semi-conscious Kimberly kicked him in the ribs several times. Kimberly was asked about the incident and stated she was upset because it was Valentine's Day and her husband did not get her anything. John Hammond declined treatment for his injuries. Kimberly admitted to drinking and later tested .221 on the portable breath machine at the Washington County Jail. Kimberly was arrested for Felonious Assault (F2) and Domestic Violence (M1). The incident was substantiated by a relative who was present at the time. Kimberly was transported to the Washington County Jail where she remains incarcerated pending a hearing in Marietta Municipal Court. Her photograph is attached.
