"Union fat-cats...myth or reality?"

So...you think labor unions are run by cigar chomping "Union Fat Cats", who receive outrageous salaries and benefits, while living a life of luxury comparable to Saudi Arabian Princes, lording their unrestrained power over the entire United States of America... all on the backs of the union-enslaved workers they represent. Here's your chance to prove it.

Munster, naturally NAFTA would not have anything to do with the manufacturing job losses during that time period...now would it??? you may wish to get away from your wrongformichigandot org blog. there's some funny logic going on there kingfish. right to work laws had absolutely nothing to do with the manufacturing job losses you are touting. other jobs were created by nafta, but unfortunately manufacturing was not one of them. as you are aware, textiles play a big role in the jobs in both of the carolinas and were decimated by NAFTA. check out the real story if you like. it is out there.

You stand with Koch Bros, you stand behind Cheney, Walker, Kasich,Ryan, Armey, you stand with people who put the word freedom in a movement trying to take away collective bargaining rights in public union contract negotiating, with an eye on private sector unions, who are around 6% of the workforce. You and these citizens want to take the middle class away and have those people living in a third world status, with no voice and no choice but to work for wages that will not let them survive let alone save and strive for the future. What do you know about freedom, and living free.

Multiple challenges to Act 10 have been filed in state and federal court since it became law in 2011. In January, the U.S. Court of Appeals in Chicago reversed a decision that found provisions of Act 10 unconstitutional, likely foreclosing further federal challenges. The decision by Judge Colas is in state court.

Walker Admin's Request for a Stay Denied, Again In September, Dane County District Judge Juan Colas found that Act 10's differential treatment between union and non-union employees imposes burdens on their free speech, freedom of association, and equal protection rights. The decision applied to municipal and school district employees, and some school districts took advantage of their reinstated bargaining rights and forged new contracts. A month later, Colas denied the state's request that he "stay" his decision -- put it on hold and withhold enforcement -- while it was appealed. Source: Alternet

A Wisconsin appeals court has refused to put a hold on a lower court's decision that overturned key provisions of Governor Scott Walker's controversial Act 10, which severely limited collective bargaining rights for most public employees. The appellate decision will allow teacher's unions and others to continue collectively negotiating contracts. A three-judge panel rejected a request from Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen to delay enforcement of a judge's decision striking down several portions of Act 10 as unconstitutional. Source: Alternet

get back as your Beck refund. In the Twenty-Two Right to Work States you do not have to pay forced dues.In a Right to Work State you can resign from a union at anytime because it is what you want to do.

What is the difference between a Right to Work Vs. Union Security Clause State?

Getting part of your dues back is a "Beck Refund" To get your Beck refund, find out if you are a member of a Labor union. If you are a union member and you decide you want to get your Beck refund, you can choose to end your union membership. Beck means when you become a non- member of a Union, in either a right to work or union security clause state you have the right to get your union dues back. What you get back is determined by what kind of state you live in.

As a non-member in a Right to Work Sate you do not get your Beck Refund back; instead, as a non-member, you no longer have to pay any dues to your union at all. Twenty-Eight states allow union security clauses in your labor contract forcing you to pay union dues; therefore, you must pay those dues but of those dues the part that you “object to” paying you get back as your Beck refund. In the Twenty-Two Right to Work States you do not h

Better wages. The median weekly income of full-time wage and salary workers who were union members in 2010 was $917, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. For nonunion workers, it was $717.

More access to benefits. Some 93 percent of unionized workers were entitled to medical benefits compared to 69 percent of their nonunion peers, according to the National Compensation Survey published last year by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey represented about 101 million private industry workers and 19 million state and local government employees.

Tiredofit said- "If the worker actually supported the candidates, they would contribute freely themselves." If they didn't support the candidate, their workplace protections disappear. SB5 in ohio was a wonderful reminder of that.

Michelle Rhee is a lightning rod, she grounds those that flow with her agenda, and attacts attention by her postions on school reform, standardized testing does not tell how well a teacher is performing, public schools take in all students, emotional, learning disabled, etc. all 5 of my kids do not process information the same,so learn different things at differing rates, only 1 excels a the OGT. does that make her teachers the best , no. Ms. Rhee does not want to consider environment in the educational process either, and with her one time position in D.C. schools, that should be something she wants to address. As for cyberbullying, I also express a differing view, do I feel bullied on this site, or feel that I bully on this site. No, never was one to be intimidated. And admit your style of debate is not aGGRESSIVE.
