"Union fat-cats...myth or reality?"

So...you think labor unions are run by cigar chomping "Union Fat Cats", who receive outrageous salaries and benefits, while living a life of luxury comparable to Saudi Arabian Princes, lording their unrestrained power over the entire United States of America... all on the backs of the union-enslaved workers they represent. Here's your chance to prove it.

How will allowing today’s workers the ‘Freedom to choose whether to participate in a labor organization as a condition of employment’ have an effect on a retired DUES EXEMPT union member?

As more and more of today’s workers realize the union fat cats, like the Munsters, are only interested in feathering their own nest will choose to leave those unions with ineffective/corrupt leaders. As this occurs, the union bosses will require all the retired dues exempt union members to pay compulsory union dues and fees to help alleviate some of the lost revenue and increase the dues and fees on existing members.

"right to work is wrong". c om Wrong for workers •These laws drive down wages by $1,500 per year for all workers, including non-union members. Learn More Wrong for businesses •High-tech companies that provide good-paying, American jobs favor states where unions have a strong presence, because unions provide a stable, high-skilled workforce. Learn More Wrong for the economy •Right to work does not improve the employment rate. In fact, these laws actually lead to a decrease in employment in certain industries. Learn More Right to work is wrong for everyone. Get more facts on right to work. "right to work is wrong". c om

What is a Right to Work law?

“A Right to Work law guarantees that no person can be compelled, as a condition of employment, to join or not to join, nor to pay dues to a labor union. Section 14(b) of the Taft-Hartley Act affirms the right of states to enact Right to Work laws.”

“The 24 states which have passed Right to Work laws are: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.”

Better wages. The median weekly income of full-time wage and salary workers who were union members in 2010 was $917, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. For nonunion workers, it was $717.

More access to benefits. Some 93 percent of unionized workers were entitled to medical benefits compared to 69 percent of their nonunion peers, according to the National Compensation Survey published last year by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey represented about 101 million private industry workers and 19 million state and local government employees.

Tiredofit said- "If the worker actually supported the candidates, they would contribute freely themselves." If they didn't support the candidate, their workplace protections disappear. SB5 in ohio was a wonderful reminder of that.
