"Union fat-cats...myth or reality?"

So...you think labor unions are run by cigar chomping "Union Fat Cats", who receive outrageous salaries and benefits, while living a life of luxury comparable to Saudi Arabian Princes, lording their unrestrained power over the entire United States of America... all on the backs of the union-enslaved workers they represent. Here's your chance to prove it.

Better wages. The median weekly income of full-time wage and salary workers who were union members in 2010 was $917, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. For nonunion workers, it was $717.

More access to benefits. Some 93 percent of unionized workers were entitled to medical benefits compared to 69 percent of their nonunion peers, according to the National Compensation Survey published last year by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The survey represented about 101 million private industry workers and 19 million state and local government employees.

Tiredofit said- "If the worker actually supported the candidates, they would contribute freely themselves." If they didn't support the candidate, their workplace protections disappear. SB5 in ohio was a wonderful reminder of that.

What about he 3/4 of a billion donated by your republican super PAC's towards trying to get ole Mitt elected ! Its the same !! Why arent you bitc hing about that ??

Yes donations are given voluntarily just like giving millions toward a republican super PAC !!And as a member of the body you can bring that to the floor , have it seconded, and voted on !! MAJORITY RULES AGAIN !!!! And members know what they are getting into when they join so dont start with that ignorant republican crappola !

If the worker actually supported the candidates, they would contribute freely themselves. I guess Commrad Munster knows better how to use your money than you do.

Donations are given willingly, Unions take money from workers without their permission and buy power for themselves.

!"right to work is wrong".co m ! And the truth is a person either CHOOSES to go to work at A: a union shop or B: CHOOSES to go to work at a non-union shop ! Either way a person gets to choose and since thats the whole point of you "peoples" arguement it lets all the air out of your ballon now dont it ! what this does is tell everyone the real reason for these attacks ! All the right wants is to limit the unions ability to bargain collectively and choke off their donations to candidates who they support !When wrongriki has no valid answer this is what you can expect ! deflect, deny , mis-lead and lie !"right to work is wrong".co m

@ Scrappile . . .

How will allowing Today’s workers the ‘Freedom to choose whether to participate in a labor organization as a condition of employment’ have an effect on any or all your five kids, who do not process information the same, from achieving a better life for themselves or their descendants?
