Daily breaking news and news the liberal media doesn't want you to know, won't report, or just daily news issues.

Americans for many years have had to rely on left leaning biased news reporting from liberal media such as NBC, ABC, and CBS and the New York Times. As most of these outlets struggle to remain on the air and in print, the new media is flourishing and people are hearing both sides of the issues. This forum will provide people with a place to discuss daily news issues of any kind or discuss articles not printed or aired by the liberal news outlets.

"You have a problem with Pertinence ?" ~slinky

Not at all, and since you've expanded the original parameters of this discussion of the Death Penalty in Arkansas, let's bring up the hypocrisy of the Obama/Clinton points of view.

"General: Muslim Brotherhood inside Obama administration"

h ttp://w ww.w nd.c om/2014/01/general-muslim-brotherhood-inside-obama- administration/

So, Obama supports the LGBT community, in order to usurp more power, while he is supportive of the following? "Homosexuality is one of the most disgusting sins and greatest crimes.... It is a vile perversion that goes against sound nature, and is one of the most corrupting and hideous sins.... The punishment for homosexuality is death. Both the active and passive participants are to be killed whether or not they have previously had sexual intercourse in the context of a legal marriage.... Some of the companions of the Prophet stated that [the perpetrator] is to be burned with fire."

Are those "places" a REAL concern of yours?

If not (and I'd be willing to make bank on it) why even mention it?

Some places execution is right after the sentencing , they are shot and the family gets a bill for the bullet !

Do we let them rot in prison or execute them outright?

Not sure I can really answer that question.

Does an execution bring closure to a victims family? I can't answer that on either.

The average wait time a convicted felon serves on death row before actually being executed in California is 17.5 years.

don't believe that has much to do with a drug shortage...

Show me a credible authorized source of information that reports he HAS NOT exhausted his appeal options and I will admit you're right. Until you do that, you are simply guessing.

The turmoil over the constitutionality of and availability of the death inducing drugs used by Arkansas (and many other states) does, in fact, have their lines for execution backed up.

I still say switch to overdosing them with h-eroin. There's plenty of it available. They'll likely go out smiling and be JUST AS DEAD as the state decrees.

Kunec, you used wertz in your post...he is not being held up from death b/c of a drug shortage...his relying on rule 37 to extend his life...sure some may be held up b/c of shortages, just not wertz...

NasCarNut says - "don't believe wertzs case has anything to do with a drug shortage..."

The "drug shortage" is caused by the questioned constitutionality of the affect of the proscribed administration of the drug cocktail upon the convicts. That problem, and the approval for and availability of a replacement death-inducing agent has, in fact, slowed down the process for Arkansas.

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching the Gulf of Mexico for a passenger missing from a cruise ship sailing out of Galveston, Texas.

A Coast Guard statement says its district command center in New Orleans was contacted by the master of the cruise ship Carnival Liberty. The ship reported that a surveillance video showed a woman falling overboard about 2 a.m. Friday.

Do they really expect to find her or do they just do it to make everyone feel better?

The appearance marks the third attempt for Wertz to be granted a new trial in what is called a Rule 37 Hearing. Wertz claims that he had ineffective legal counsel during his initial trial.

BeRight - As we speak, a former Belpre, Ohio police officer, Steven Victor Wertz, awaits the Death Penalty on Arkansas' Death Row.

The shortage of lethal injection drugs is creating a temporary 'reprieve' for some in that state.

I'm sure if they look far enough there is someone who can fill their needs ! Russia comes to mind , maybe instead of injecting them with drugs we can just ship them all to Chernobyl

The pharmaceutical giant Pfizer announced on Friday that it has imposed sweeping controls on the distribution of its products to ensure that none are used in lethal injections, a step that closes off the last remaining open-market source of drugs used in executions.
