Daily breaking news and news the liberal media doesn't want you to know, won't report, or just daily news issues.

Americans for many years have had to rely on left leaning biased news reporting from liberal media such as NBC, ABC, and CBS and the New York Times. As most of these outlets struggle to remain on the air and in print, the new media is flourishing and people are hearing both sides of the issues. This forum will provide people with a place to discuss daily news issues of any kind or discuss articles not printed or aired by the liberal news outlets.

asknot, actually i think you have described why japans students do so well. they are not encouraged to have the free-thought education as much as the rigid realities of science, math and related studies. i would suggest that non-studious behavoir is frowned upon by not only the educators but the parents as well. i do not believe the japanese government has created the support sytems for non-performing members of society in such a way as we. i may be wrong but i suspect that excellence is expected more so than mediocrity.

lets supply them thusly and invest in those that desire to learn. the teachers must be given the latitude to teach and not simply be the minions of the administration. much like evryone else the teachers are victim to their own interests and do not fight for anything but money and benefits. we in the public sector are villified for that thinking but they are lauded. ain't life grand?!!!!

asknot...in the case of our educational system, segregation would be a good thing. many years ago while at an open house for our local public school, a young lady came running up to a teacher in which we were talking with to say with glee that she was looking forward to being in his class. i thought that to be wonderful since he was an AP History teacher. little did i know that he babysat the ISS (in-school suspension) class in the afternoon and she was planning her attendance. failure is such an admirable attribute...isn't it? while some low performing students get a boost through interacting with more prolific students, the majority of the time they are simply a hindrance to the education that we providing on our and others dime. while the monetary investment for those that desire to learn is something i fully support, i fail to see the return from squandering resources on those that do not put forth the effort to learn. if we will admit that all we truly provide are daycares then l

good morning asknot. the right to be dumb along with the acceptance and, often times, encouragement of mediocrity has been allowed to permeate throughout our education system. the emphasis seems to have shifted from the factual based education system to the whimsical everyones a winner educational system. we have been dancing around the main problems for too long. the integration of lower perfoming pupils in which to elevate GPA's and performance data have simply diluted the classroom. money spent without return is wasted. perhaps our well-educated teachers (choke...choke) should have been protesting the true factors contributing to the low performance of the students rather than the lack of more money in their back-pocket. as fred has said...."you can thank a teacher".

Sound familiar……in the Dispatch this morning: An East Side man could be sent to prison for more than 10 years after admitting that he videotaped co-workers, including one minor, as they used a restroom at a Canal Winchester pet store. Nelson J. Brewer, 31, of S. Hampton Road, pleaded guilty yesterday to two felony counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, one felony count of voyeurism and three misdemeanor counts of voyeurism. The maximum-combined sentence for the felonies is 10 years, with an additional three months for each misdemeanor. Brewer will be sentenced on Jan. 16 by Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Tim Horton. Brewer was an employee at Jack’s Pets, 6334 Gender Rd., when he concealed a camera in the restroom and videotaped female employees “in various states of undress” A forensic analysis of Brewer’s home computer found that he had downloaded the videos in files that were catalogued by each employee’s name.

Death Panels?: UnitedHealthcare is sharply reducing the number of doctors from its Medicare Advantage programs The move is causing many seniors to cut long-term relationships with their doctors The AMA and patient advocacy groups are urging that doctors be reinstated for one more year.

Adminsitatration says no. In other words, too bad.

I agree with the Pres: Obamacare is much more than a web site. It is much worse.

A family who miraculously survived a high-speed car crash into a Utah home Thanksgiving night encountered another surprise when Josh Romney, son of Mitt Romney, was there to help them, authorities said. A Subaru Impreza carrying a family of four drove through a stop sign and crashed into the living room of a home in Holladay shortly after 8 p.m., said Lt. Justin Royal of the Unified Police of Greater Salt Lake.

Taking a page from the Dan Rather book of anything goes when you want to believe it is true: CBS correspondent Lara Logan has been ordered to take a leave of absence after an internal review found her discredited "60 Minutes" segment on the Benghazi consulate attack was poorly vetted, the network said in a memo to staff.

as reported on KWTV: "Police have arrested the grandmother and great-aunt of a 4-year-old boy after he arrived at his Cross Timbers Elementary School reeking of marijuana. Police were called to the school on Friday after children in the boy’s Pre-K class noticed something was wrong with him. They told teachers, who said the boy’s eyes didn’t look normal, he was acting lethargic and he reeked of marijuana." side-story...no chips could be found for lunch, broccholi will be substituted....details at 11.

Coming soon to your local sheriff: 18-ton, armor-protected military fighting vehicles that were once the U.S. answer to roadside bombs during the Iraq war. The hulking vehicles were built for about $500,000 each at the height of the war. They are among the biggest pieces of equipment that the Defense Department is giving free to law enforcement agencies under a national military surplus program. Police and sheriff's departments nationwide have scooped up 165 of the so-called MRAP trucks since they became available this summer. That includes eight in New York state. Sheriffs say the MRAPS are a choice vehicle should SWAT teams need to get close to a shooter or rescue bystanders. But some critics are questioning the militarization of police, including armored vehicles too big to travel on some bridges and roadways.
