While her party supports taxpayer-funded contraceptives for female law students, a top Democrat disses a stay-at-home mother of five who has "never worked a day in her life."

It's all coming down to curling and chickens!

Sorry for the deviation from the topic.

Lacking proper media coverage, one must resort to whatever information one can garner.

Under the circumstances, a friend's observation will have to do.

Just watched the medal ceremony for the womens' curling.

I now understand your interest.

"King" coal is exactly what I was referring to when I mentioned the self-imposition of the stereotype.

BTW: Do you have any more on the mad chickens?

R1KRA8: Good for you, you were aware of something that I wasn't. Give yourself a cookie.

Well, I think I do.

1) We are presumed to be a bunch of hillbillies, unworthy of concern.

2) It is to some degree, self imposed.

One has to wonder: If this had occured elsewhere, say, in NYC, affecting 200-500 thousand people, what would the media coverage entail? AND what would the various government entities responses be?

Didn't know about any such water drive... Such a thing being necessary at this point is further proof of our media's incompetence.

Funny how the same people who complained before the spill, that "the job-killing EPA needs to be eliminated" are now whining about why the EPA didn't prevent the disaster. Go figure.

Seriously though, I know, it's a (real) shame. However, I don't facebook, so I can't look into your suggestion.

Call me crazy, but Al Jazeera-America seems to have the most comprehensive coverage of any pertinent news.

They had more information on the recent chemical spill into the Elk River in WVa than anyone else, bar none.

There is something horribly wrong with that.

BobBarker: MORE legit, yes, but even they (esp NPR) seem to be slipping. More and more, they are succumbing to corporate interests.

Agreed, (as indicated per this topic ).

The question is, what news sites are available anymore that aren't "faux"?
