| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category A new documentary film, "Looking for Superman" suggests that American education is severly flawed. Is this view justified? As a former history teacher, I believe that the majority of today's public issues are rooted in the quality - or lack thereof - of American education. Never in my own memory have I noticed so many students (and adults) who are so uninformed about even the most basic facts of history, civics, geography ... Recent studies suggest that U.S. schools rank well below other nations in the disciplines of math and science ... "Waiting for Superman" (which needs to be shown locally) says that the "blame" or "responsibility" for this sad state of affairs rests upon several factors - i.e. the distractions of TV and computer games; teachers' unions that support "tenure" for some incompetent teachers; uncaring parents; "pressure groups" that demonize public education to promote private, sectarian schools; politicians who burden schools with "unfunded mandates" like "No Child Left Behind" ... Or is it "all of the above" Member CommentsMunsterAnd still unable to fathom that its line of reasoning is a lie ! And no matter how many times wrongriki is debunked its sad to see that its either too stupid to understand it or it just cant accept the facts ! Working folk make their own personal CHOICE when they CHOOSE to either work at a union shop or CHOOSE to work at a non union shop ! THEY MAKE THEIR CHOICE !! " right to work is wrong " .co m Posted 41 days ago. MunsterAnd heres a common sense thing to do ! If you dont like unions you have a choice , DONT GET A JOB THERE !!! When you consider that 87% of jobs are non -union there must be tons of non-union jobs out there ! People make choices everyday and most live with their decisions but for a very few, they decided to work at a union shop for the better pay and benefits and then decided they didnt want to pay their fair share ! Just like the typical republican right ?" right to work is wrong" .co m Posted 41 days ago. R1KRA8Here is a common sense thing to do . . . If you do not like the incompetence of the NEA Union Fat Cats you have a choice . . . support the "Ohio Workplace Freedom Amendment"
Remember the "Ohio Workplace Freedom Amendment" would “guarantee the freedom of Ohioans to choose whether to participate in a labor organization as a condition of employment”.

It goes something like this: “Well, if you don't like it, you can go work somewhere else” or “If you don't like it, you can move to a right to work state”. . . . Let us talk some more about CHOICES. You know the Choice that Today’s Ohioans can make when they CHOOSE to support the “Ohio Workplace Freedom Amendment” or CHOOSE to not to support the “Ohio Workplace Freedom Amendment”.
