What happened to the "Union Influence in Politics" topic?

Even though I initiated it as the debut topic in the Times forums, I'm happy to realize it has been deleted. It died an ugly death long ago, and should have been executed long before it was. I'm curious though... Why? I am unaware of the travesty that occurred that was sufficiently heinous to warrant it's deletion... As compared to the tripe on ALL the other threads that is evident on a daily basis.

Same crap from wrongriki ! They make their choice !And heres a common sense thing to do ! If you dont like unions you have a choice , DONT GET A JOB THERE !!! When you consider that 87% of jobs are non -union there must be tons of non-union jobs out there ! People make choices everyday and most live with their decisions but for a very few, they decided to work at a union shop for the better pay and benefits and then decided they didnt want to pay their fair share ! Just like the typical republican right ?" we are ohio" .co m The average worker—unionized or not—working in a right-to-work state earns approximately $1,500 less per year than a similar worker in a state without such a law.Right to Work For Less By ThinkProgress War Room on Dec 10, 2012 at 5:26 pm "we are Ohio". c om

The Eight Lies Behind The Republican Push For Right To Work Laws However, as we have seen over and over again, the meme that corporations can’t make a profit if they have to pay workers is a lie (lie #2), and that is the premise of the first lie. Germany is a great example of what happens when workers and labor are valued and have a seat at the table, as exemplified in their “codetermination system”. This system requires, by law, the appointment of worker representatives to a company’s board of directors.

Taft-Hartley clearly states, and a number of court cases have confirmed, that non-union members can be compelled to pay only that portion of union dues that is attributable to the cost of representing employees in collective bargaining and providing the service that are given to union members. Indeed, the law specifically states that non-members cannot be required to pay for the union’s political activities or for the costs incurred by the union resulting from organizing employees. So as usual wrongriki lies and misleads !

Well here you go but head , it isn't going to get anymore credible than the "Bureau of Labor Statistics" According to a January 2011 Bureau of Labor Statistics report, workers who belong to a union typically earn higher pay than non-union workers doing the same kind of job. Although it varies based on sector and occupation, the overall averages are striking.

$917 = Median weekly earnings in 2010 of union members.

$717 = Median weekly earnings in 2010 of non-union workers.

That's a yearly difference in salary of $10,400 for union members vs. non-union members.

Union members earn an average of $4.95 more per hour - which equates to a yearly difference of $10,300. (we are ohio.co m)

We are Ohio.co m No #1 Even though the welfare addicted wrongriki's idiocy about retiree's not paying dues anymore comes as no surprise because again it has no valid point to make ! This outright mission to destroy unions and democracy is personal ! unless we stand up and fight he and his republican masters will take labor back a 100 yrs ! The republicans want us all to be like a third world country and give up the rights and dignity so sorely won ! Due to the excessive cut and paste repeats of right-wing propaganda, denial, deflection, misleading and out right lying most readers have just turned off wrongriki and the other republican liars club members!
