Yet, NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre, and the usual gaggle of hotheads that support him, say that Americans need to be "ready if necessary" to use these weapons to fight against "dictatorship". What "dictatorship"? This isn't Syria or Nazi Germany. The only actions relating to guns that President Obama took during his first term was to allow guns to be taken on board AMTRAK trains and brought into national parks ... Do the paranoid and delusional beliefs of some (though not all) gun-advocates disqualify them from being mentally sound enough to purchase or own guns? The 2008 "Heller v District of Columbia" ruling says that the government DOES have a right to prohibit mentally-defective Member CommentsthegreekSo you are claiming that as a victory for the anti gunners??? OK.. Whatever... You beloved gun ban didnt pass either did it???? How do you see that as a win??? The people in this country are tired of your dems forcing crap down their throats that they do not want. You all said the NRA's own members were in favor of the manchin-toomey mess and we proved you were liars by standing up united against you idiots !! Posted 20 days ago. thegreekJeeze Munster. You are dense. The gun show was eventually cancelled because all of us legal gun owners and gun manufacturers and BOW HUNTERS stuck together and boycotted it because of the insane left wing psychotics attack on the Semi Auto Rifle and the 2nd ammendment.!!! Got that? Posted 20 days ago. stickhaulerThe highest selling rifle in the US is the M-4/AR-15 civilian model rifle. And the vast majority of these rifles, including small internal parts, and springs/clips, etc., and made in the US. The vast majority of AK rifles, or variants of that, are either assembled here from parts kits, or sold as parts kits. Any of that style firearm is required to have a certain number of US made parts. The companies importing and building them, are buying parts pretty much at surplus military prices, from the Soviet bloc countries. Actual assembled AK's haven't been allowed to be imported for years. About the only assembled semi-auto rifles they've allowed to be imported from those sources for years are SKS rifles. They have a fixed 10 round internal magazine. Posted 20 days ago. stickhaulerThe highest selling rifle in the US is the M-4/AR-15 civilian model rifle. Showing the American public that this fight was/is just starting and the antigun polls saying the NRA's own people supported the ban were WRONG.WRONG oh SO WRONG.. He makes stupid responses such as, "Decreased ! Not ended !". He ignores the FACT that one of the assailants, in the slashing murder of the British solider in London HAD A GUN in one of the more gun-regulated nations in the world. As long as it is the last word!” ~ thegreek Posted 26 days ago. thegreeka report issued by the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS-a component of the Justice Department) shows that firearm homicides in general, and violence at schools, have decreased substantially during the last two decades; the percentage of homicides committed with firearms has decreased; and only a tiny percentage of state prison inmates imprisoned for gun offenses obtain their guns from gun shows. As the Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin characterizes it, the report is "wonderful news for the country and rotten data for anti-gun advocates." the story has been picked up by some heavy hitters in the national news media. In an article for U.S. News and NBCNews****, veteran reporter Pete Williams points out that the BJS report shows that 40 percent of criminals get their guns from friends and family members, and another 37 percent get theirs from theft or other illegal sources.
