| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category Are "gun-rights" advocates who say they "need" combat-style weaponry to "protect the nation from dictatorship" dangerous anarchists who are endangering the REAL Second-Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans with their paranoid, anti-government rants?None of the recent suggested actions by the President or the Biden task force concerning universal background checks or the regulation of military-style weapons and high-capacity magazines poses a serious threat to the Second Amemdment rights of law-abiding Americans ... Yet, NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre, and the usual gaggle of hotheads that support him, say that Americans need to be "ready if necessary" to use these weapons to fight against "dictatorship". What "dictatorship"? This isn't Syria or Nazi Germany. The only actions relating to guns that President Obama took during his first term was to allow guns to be taken on board AMTRAK trains and brought into national parks ... Do the paranoid and delusional beliefs of some (though not all) gun-advocates disqualify them from being mentally sound enough to purchase or own guns? The 2008 "Heller v District of Columbia" ruling says that the government DOES have a right to prohibit mentally-defective Member CommentsTiredofitLaw of the land I CAN BUY AN AR 15 if I WANT ONE OR TWO OR A DOZEN Get used to it. All you did was pi ss and moan on these forums obout nothing but the crap that your right-wing media shoved in your tiny brain ! And still nobody's doing away with your second amendment rights but apparently your not bright enough to understand that ! You will still be able to own guns , just not certain ones ! Posted 32 days ago. stickhaulerWho's the dumb one? We fought you folks efforts off once, what makes you think we plan to slack off? But, with the lack of logic and reason you folks display, ya'all will continue to waste time trying this again and again, rather than deal with issues this country needs to climb back up out of recession. That's been the tactic since this idiot took office, keep bringing up other BS to distract America from the fact this crowd is bankrupting us! Posted 32 days ago. I have never said a negative thing about abortion and the sexual rights of others.. I was wrong in thinking they would return the favor if one of my rights was threatened. I was so wrong !! SO, now that they are attcking my rights, I am gonna rub their sins in their snobby noses. Posted 33 days ago. stickhaulerThat's your defense of killing babies? You're a lot like those Nazi Prison Camp guards, huh? Nope, no need to consider that your party wanted abortions legalized, for "rare" situations, yet once they got their way, it's turned into a form of "retroactive" birth control. You folks won't take responsibility for those murdered children, yet you want to blame ALL gun owners for the actions of a madman who murdered children. Sure, typical liberal thinking. Anyone can think like a liberal, just remove any chance of logic or reason. Posted 33 days ago. MunsterLaw of the land , you don't have to like it , just live with it ! Posted 33 days ago. thegreekStick, the left is a bunch of crybabies that go out and support abortion and then get all righteous when someone kills with a gun. A doctor snipping the spine of a wimpering unborn but developed child, human being is OK but protecting yourself and loved ones is not !!!They can lie cheat and steal to get votes for affordable health care but someone beats them using their own tactics, because they are stupid, and we are bad !! You and Jim Raap of Lowell (Politics Tramples Will of the People, letter to the editor) need to understand that the bill was not only about backround checks but had other provisions that were not good.! The attempt was botched at best. Posted 33 days ago. stickhaulerThe point was made that the NRA spent huge amounts of money to influence Senators to vote against the bills. I guess their spending was a bit lower since all they had to do was keep the "for" votes under 60. That's what angers me, the left has no issue with the "super majority" procedural tactic, when it benefits their point of view. But in this case, it's "unconstitutional" in their view? I doubt their spending rivaled the spending by Bloomberg to influence Senators to vote for the measures, with promises of additional funds to "save their bacon" when they next came up for re-election. We saw the celebration by those on the left here when, with Bloomberg funding, the anti-gun challenger for Jesse Jackson Jr's seat won the primary. We saw the claims that "their side" had beaten the NRA. The NRA employs lobbyists, as do any interest group, and I don't deny that fact. But the claim that the NRA bought off people is a lie! Posted 33 days ago. moderationstick, my man, you diminish your credibility when you suggest that the nra didn't spend any money to influence that vote. the lobby has to be paid, and that is not chicken feed. and that is only the surface. Posted 33 days ago. stickhaulerReally free? I've seen no proof the NRA spent any money to defeat these bills, Bloomberg however spent 12 Million on ads screaming for Americans to support the bills. Did you call either of your Senators? I did, both of them. Brown's staff member who answered the phone acted as if she could care less what I thought. Portman's staff said they'd pass along my comments, and related that they'd gotten a lot of calls, with most asking that the Senator vote against the bills.
