Are "gun-rights" advocates who say they "need" combat-style weaponry to "protect the nation from dictatorship" dangerous anarchists who are endangering the REAL Second-Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans with their paranoid, anti-government rants?

None of the recent suggested actions by the President or the Biden task force concerning universal background checks or the regulation of military-style weapons and high-capacity magazines poses a serious threat to the Second Amemdment rights of law-abiding Americans ... Yet, NRA honcho Wayne LaPierre, and the usual gaggle of hotheads that support him, say that Americans need to be "ready if necessary" to use these weapons to fight against "dictatorship". What "dictatorship"? This isn't Syria or Nazi Germany. The only actions relating to guns that President Obama took during his first term was to allow guns to be taken on board AMTRAK trains and brought into national parks ... Do the paranoid and delusional beliefs of some (though not all) gun-advocates disqualify them from being mentally sound enough to purchase or own guns? The 2008 "Heller v District of Columbia" ruling says that the government DOES have a right to prohibit mentally-defective

BeRight

Tennis Melvin Maynard, the guy who killed the Sheriff in Mingo County, had spent time at a state hospital for mental health issues within the past couple of years. Boy, I never say that one coming.

Universal checks will prevent felons and other previous lawbreakers from getting guns but we currently do not prosecute all attempts by these folks from trying to by a gun which is against the law. Why is that? I don’t know. Universal background checks will make you feel good but until the Gov’t complies a searchable list of the diagnosed mentally ill, schizophrenics, bipolar etc, (illnesses you can have and pass a background check) you will be missing the on the large population who are most likely to commit the crimes that we find so disgusting. You don’t see anyone rushing this idea to the forefront because the ACLU will fight this as a privacy issue.

I just noticed another UNbalanced Liberal balancing act besides the infamous, "semi-automatic rifle...GOOD / B-L-A-C-K semi-automatic rifle...BAD".

It's being argued by some liberal women that, if they terminate a pregnancy though abortion and the child survives and is trying to remain alive on the table, the MOTHER has the discretion to deny the child medical care and allow him/her to die.

YOU are driving your car recklessly and kill a women carrying a fetus in another car and YOU ARE convicted of TWO COUNTS of vehicular homicide.

In one case, Life IS RECOGNIZED AS BEING LIFE, but not in the other.

It's apparent to me that Liberals don't REALLY have their sh!+ together about much of anything.

Latham - You bring up an interesting point. Should we be as concerned, on balance, with stick's assessment of a .223 having a similar recoil to a .22 OR Lying Barry Hussein Obama trying to convince citizens of San Francisco, yesterday, that Lanza's weapon was a FULLY-AUTOMATIC, when IT WAS a semi-automatic (IF he even used the AR-15, that we were all told, initially, he had left in the car)?????

Posted 43 days ago.

an AR has ???"at most, equal recoil to a .22 rifle."??? are you sure you want to stick with that one?

Posted 43 days ago.

work a string of nites and miss all the action! NOT! boy, yall have too much time on your hands and will fuss forever about EVERYything. same stuff now as a week ago when i made my point. I dont need bob or any other busybody to back me up by saying the same things that I had said already. "i can sleep all day, thanks" was a hint that he ignored for him to shut up too. stickhauler, i guess you and your blackberry must be back from canada by now, but i didnt see the conclusion that you were going to look up at home. jet lag?

stick posted, "More people die in auto accidents than do from guns."

YEP!

The latest estimates suggest that NINE PEOPLE die in this country EVERY DAY just because of 'distracted driving'.

And just what difference would that make ? There is still no reason for a civilian to own a military assault rifle ! And just for your info Ive shot both with the rounds mentioned and until you try a 410 with buckshot YOU are the ignorant one !The recoil is much the same !

stickhauler

Really? And you claim to know about firearms? You're ignorant enough to claim that a .410 shotgun has LESS recoil than a "AR Style" rifle? The "AR Style" rifle has a piston recoil system, they have at most, equal recoil to a .22 rifle.

I guess we settled it once and for all as to whether free/munster ever served in the military. The answer is a resounding NO! Because, since the AR/M-4 rifle has been the issue rifle of the US Military since the 1960's, had he served, he'd know that.

And dumbuT T , just because your wrong and I can prove my point doesn't mean you can turn into an idiotic tool !

Im not dictating anything dum -dum , and a 410 with buckshot will do fine ! There still isn't any reason for a civilian to own a military assault weapon !And this would kick less than a AK or an AR !

Munster

Oh so its labels you want OK, you Nazi totalitarian hitler !Look, all your blustering doesn't change a thing because no civilian needs a military assault weapon !

thegreek

Besides that, a senior citizen firing a 12 gauge shotgun could break their shoulder and put them out of commission and then killed by their attacker you idiots!! A 223 wouldnt kick near as hard !!

Posted 43 days ago.

thegreek

No. You and F.I. Joe want people to use 12 gauge shotguns and the fact is that not everyone likes shotguns!! SO you are being a selfish COMMUNISTIC DICTATOR in telling us what we should have, what would suit our needs and everyone knows what you will dictate to us next. You will dictate us to the Nazi gas chambers like Hitler and Stalin did Hehr Munster. So just clam your pie hole up about who should not need what you bag of hot air !!

Munster, maybe a 90 year old cant handle a 12 gauge shotgun but can handle a .223.!! Are you buying them this shotgun since you are DICTATING what they are to own.??? Where is the freedom there?? A.s.sinine!!

Good point. Propane grills don't kill people, people WITH propane grills kill people.

It's for the childreb!

More people die in auto accidents than do from guns. We need to pass a "Assault Car Ban!"
