The Sequester is nothing more than small decrease in the rate of increase in federal spending OVER 10 YEARS. President Obama should be the one to choose where the $85 billion in cuts should come from THIS YEAR since THE SEQUESTER was HIS IDEA TO BEGIN WIT

The President needs to lead on this issue he created instead of campaigning against it.

The LA Times reports that Consumers will help keep economic growth on track this year, as new projections of their spending indicate that it will offset the hit to the recovery from the federal government’s automatic budget cuts, a panel of economists said yesterday. Just think what consumer spending would be if we could keep Obama from giving away free phones and make people buy them.

Boo Hoo on the sequester.

If your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more — If a seven-year-old boy can be thrown out of school for saying his teacher is “cute,” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable — If hard work and success are met with higher taxes and more government regulation and intrusion, while not working is rewarded with Food Stamps, WIC checks, Medicaid benefits, subsidized housing, and free cell phones — you might live in a nation that was founded by geniuses but is run by idiots.

The National Treasury Employees Union (or NTEU) is a government union that represents 150,000 employees in 31 agencies and departments, including those tax collectors at the Internal Revenue Service in Cincinnati. According to its most recent filings with the Department of Labor, NTEU has 82,500 dues-paying members–paying between $204 and $499 per year in union dues and is headed by former IRS employee, Colleen Kelley, who, as union boss, raked in $278,127 last year. The NTEU does have an active Political Action Committee. So a union member targeted the TEA PARTY. That would make perfect sense.

The so-called Zero Interest Rate Policy is designed to stimulate the economy and avoid a deflationary price spiral. That sounds all well and good, but at what price and to whom? Baby Boomer retirees! That’s who. In 2008, a retiree could earn a return of almost 4.5% on a “risk free” 10 year Treasury note guaranteed by the full faith and credit of the government. Quantitative easing began in earnest in early 2009 and since then, that same 10 year note yields just 1.7%, a 62% cut in pay for conservative investors. Are BO monetary policies helping anyone? In a left-handed manner the sequester has helped the STOCK market boom of late. BO denies the Sequester was his idea. A smarter man would take credit.

What does "unfunded wars" mean? Do you appropriate funds for a war?

most economists feel that the government should have spent more on "stimulus" and investment than it did. You forgot the part about "instead of propping up union's".
