G "DUBYA" BUSH's Legacy

Why do the news outlets and leftist liberals not report the good things that he has done for the country and the people of Sudan instead of focusing on the problems that the country endured under his fine leadership?

beright- it wasn't the subprime, but the,up to, 40:1 leveraging of George that hurt. Thieves and nothing less. And of course, the two unfunded wars and prescription drug assistance program, that we will be paying off for a long time. And we can't forget the human anguish and monetary costs associated with all who gave service to this country. Before you tee off each time, perhaps you should say a prayer of thanks .

Combining banking and investment had the same result, that it got in the 1920`s, w did not have nothing to do with the repeal of glass steagell, but if he were potus at the time would he have signed the bill, more than likely, his wanting a legacy of the 'ownership society', could leave one to believe he might not have fought so hard against fannie and freddy as fox news would have you believe.

and then Fannie, by the Dems, backed those loans and bundled the lousy loans and sold them as investments. But most were shame loans.

Go and talk to any banker in town who does mortgage loans.

In this case, you do not know what you are talking about. Wishing something is true does not make it so. Talk to someone in the banking industry. Banks who ignored the weaker thresholds on lending and stuck with the rigid old school guidelines, made it through the crisis with no problem. Those who went with the lower standards supported by the Dems had record loan defaults.

In a mid-August 2003 letter to Fannie Mae, Barny Frank urged Fannie to withdraw the underwriting guidelines that the Bush Administration had successfully gotten Fannie to strengthen (raising the principal/collateral commitment from 3% to 10%). He wrote, the Bush-inspired “changes could make housing too expensive for many Americans.”

So they started to make largerloans that were mostly unsecured. Schumer and Waters agreed with this. So as the Bush administration tried to reign in Fannie and Freddie from stupid loans the Dem gave them the go ahead. Shorty after, Freddie got into subprime and the rest is history.

Talking about GM, at least when they were the nation's largest employer, they paid enough for their workers to by their products without govt. subsidies unlike Wal-Mart, who will show their employees how to file for snap, medicaid, and other social services, plus what medical insurance is paid by socialist making GM vehicles in Canada, like those beloved GMC trucks. Again blame the working taxpayer and the working poor.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the crash in 07, but again ply the dictionary, anf find the term 'synthetic' credit default swap, alas how many poor people who could not afford their mortgage, bet against the ability to pay mortgages, and bundled them as equity and then sold them around the world,, Then made billions when a lot of people lost their shirts, pensions, and 401 k's, but tis so easy to blame the poor.

The auto manufactures forgot they are in the business to make Cars and Money, not to provide health insurance and retirement packages to union workers who were out to make it as difficult as possible to make Cars and Money. Remember the UAW’s legacy of Lordstown.

And GM who got themselves into bankruptcy by signing lousy contracts with greedy unions. Like GM said, they end up in Bankruptcy as a Health Insurance company that made cars on the side.

and don't forget about Freddie and Fannie buying all those c r a p unsecured loans that put the economy in the tank.

and he had to put up with Dodd and Frank insisting on making home loans to people who could not pay them back.
