BobDahler, thanks for your post. this whole event with the presidents reaction is a "head-scratchin" moment. just like benghazi, something just doesn't add up. it should bother most when the international community, namely our staunchest allies, leave the president dangling like a booger at the end of stretched snot. how does the saying go??? oh yes..the chesse stands alone and it stinks.
R1KRA8, thanks for notification of the fred sighting! i suppose there is still worth in having the printed page.
I will add, lts, ... I have no illusions to the savagery of which man may be capable. Cheney,Rumsfeld, and the man-child Pom Pom boy-w/dubya, as well as Assad are prominent when considering 'personality disorders'.
lts- many voices, since the last violation by syria, have demanded he be held accountable for his "red line" line declaration. The media, his political opponents, and his political supporters have fanned the fire. There have been repeated violations of that international expectation.barry has positioned himself in the only way I believe allows him to legally satisfy americans and still exhibit to the world, our political process.
luvethesouth posed: "makes one wonder whom is pulling the puppet's strings"
Perhaps GE, Halliburton, Wall Street... Who knows?
A sickening disappointment. "Bush-Lite" may be too charitable.
moderation, never said it would. you can't take away from what comes out of his mouth. this potential use of our military would be a grave mistake. kind of makes one wonder whom is pulling the puppet's strings. so where do you stand on "bush-lites" position?
The fat woman has yet to sing.
Puuuuuleeeeease, lts. That wouldn't set a precedent.
fred, when are you going to weigh in on this syria mess we seemingly are about to get into?
abc news headline: "President Obama Urges Congress to Vote Conscience on Syria, Even If Public Opposed". so much for a democratic country. this must be a representative republic. hmmmmm.
InSANE McCain is sure rattling the sabre. Let them people over there fight all they want. When they attack Isreal, they will get a quick education. If they attack the USA, we will give them one. I think they are just trying to spread our military all over the place then attack us up thru Mexico. Our forces will be overseas. SO, in that case there might be a time coming where many Americans will be glad to have a gun and the 2nd ammendemnt.
perhaps the president should have hosted a warm goat milk summit. AFP: "Three Russian warships crossed Turkey's Bosphorus Strait Thursday en route to the eastern Mediterranean, near the Syrian coast, amid concern in the region over potential US-led strikes in response to the Damascus regime's alleged use of chemical weapons." Syria has its allies as well. perhaps the bear has been awakened. keep your eyes on damascus.
Our president misplayed his Syria cards like the amateur he is. For some reason he thought that the world would jump on his side on this one forgetting that the world no longer thinks he is a rock star. Putin is treating him as just another political left wing hack. His press conference at yesterday’s summit just shows that without a teleprompter, he is just another talking head. I just hope we don’t go ahead with this because his 30 ish something aides think it will help him “poll” better.
U.S. intervention to deter future gas attacks in Syria ( and the middle-east region) supported and rejected by locals.
Now BO has a real problem: Ed Schultz thinks bombing Syria is a bad idea. He also had a name for this "limited action": BUSH Lite.
The networks are playing the press conference where BO was asked about chemical weapons and he said that would be a RED LINE. Bascially he stuck the foot of the USA in his mouth on that one.
*not in place of first know in previous post.
yahoo headline i woke up to: Obama: 'I didn't set a red line' on Syria. The "not me" commander-in-chief strikes again. he must have realized that two of his useful stooges were busy, namely hillary and susan, so he decided this one was gonna be all his! wait, i did neglect to mention ol' stiffy....no not that one, i am talking about the purple-hearted, shot in the arse, married my fortune john kerry. i did know know if anyone noticed his mama-warbucks sitting stage-left behind him doing her best "dog-in-the-window" bobbleheading in agreement with him as if she could lend any credibility to the manure he was spreading. simply incredible. after benghazi, only the delusional or insane would believe this group of hacks.
That is good information. Given all that, it would seem that Syria would have its hands full at this time fighting rebels. Would they have the time and expertise to make Sarin and then decide to use it on their own people? I am thinking maybe they got the stuff from Iran, China or the Russians.
There is a pretty large list of people who don't like us and don't agree with the president’s declaration that “something has to be done”.
Helping Syria would be a way to give the bird to Obama.
What a mess the president has got us committed to.
I hope we don't go ahead with this just so the president can "save face".
Also, the shelf life of sarin gas seems to be quite short. So for those that think the sarin gas used by Syria today is the same that suppose to have came from Iraq a decade ago, might want to rethink it a bit.
