Kunec- when you speak of the fabric of America being changed forever, what is the fabric that is being changed?
Now that kind of project will require funding a bit greater than pocket change, kunec. How would that expense be offset?
Kendall - When you suggest that "the US can't deal with issues happening on our own continent", I find it irresistible to ask you why. Why can't the only remaining superpower on this planet (supposedly) live up to it's convictions, under it's own laws, and build as nearly impenetrable fence as possible on our southern border? My only answer is, the person that can order it (Obama), doesn't want to. Again, how do you explain it?
Oh..there is a lot of corruption going on between the Panama Canal and our border.
Besides tightening up our own borders, it would serve us better to not focus on flexing our world power muscles and go back to flexing our regional muscle.
If the US can't deal with issues happening on our own continent, why should anyone think we can deal with issues on the other side of the world?
There is a little more in play here than meets the eye. Supposedly these “children and mothers” are walking across the border into the USA. And they are “fleeing” what is going on in Central America. So you want me to believe that they are all “walking” from El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to Arizona?? 2000miles? And Mexico with some of the strictest immigration laws is allowing 100,00o to just walk through? I can hear it now, “let us go we are just passing through to the secure USA border”.
The immigration crisis goes beyond the President or Congress. It helps if we look at the real reason all these Central American people are coming here and it isn't really about Obama's policies as much as it has to do with what's going on in Central America.
For all the talk and jabber from our politicians, nothing has really changed in the last few years, so why this sudden increase and what can we do as the regional power do about it? If anything that is.
Kunec-of what fabric do you speak?
Hey stick.i hope you have been well.
kunec- What's a few more Catholics among friends?
An "Immigration crisis" would involve not having enough of the formal documents, to be filled out by legal immigrants, or the Immigration officials to process them. What we are experiencing is an illegal INVASION and DUMPING of humanity across our borders. Consequently, there's no "Immigration crises", just an administration crises caused by a president that will not "faithfully execute" the laws. His plan is to irreversibly alter the fabric of American life as we've known it.
We have an immigration "crisis" (Obama words, not mine) but he chastises the Republicans for not passing an immigration bill that has its basis in amnesty for all those that have crossed our borders illegally. Emphasis on the word “illegally”. He ignores certain items that he does not like in laws he has championed, but calls the Republican Lawsuit suing him for not doing his job (you know, that pesky part about upholding the laws) a stunt. In one of the more out-of-touch, reality-denying interviews he's given, President Obama told Fox News host Bill O'Reilly that there was "not even a smidgeon of corruption" involved in the IRS's targeted harassment of the Tea Party and other conservatives. Soon after, the IRS says, whoops, it has lost all of the Werner emails during the exact time period in question. And Werner is still taking the 5th.
@Beright- I see no reasn why not. The Chicken Littles on the far Right were crying the sky was falling for the past six years and the US is still here.
Get a grip,beright.You ain't seen nuthin, yet.
2 more years. Can the country hold on that long?
Then, of course, the stories of how Iraqi's were fired upon, while trying to return injured US Army Pvt. Jessica Lynch to the American lines, necessitating them turning about so that US Spec. Ops could "RESCUE her" instead. h ttp://w ww.theguardian.c om/world/2007/apr/24/usa.marktran
Kendall - As to the capture of Ahmed abu Khattalah, I'm not going to "spin this to make it out like a bad thing". I just wonder WHY it took so long, with four different news teams interviewing him over the past 21 months.h ttp://w ww.nytimes.c om/2012/10/19/world/africa/suspect-in-benghazi-attack-scoffs-at-us.html?smid=tw-share&_r=2& It reminds of the story about how America's DOJ couldn't find/catch Bill Clinton's buddy, Marc Rich, when a US news team was able to talk to him on a Swiss ski slope. There's also the story that they knew of Usama bin Laden's location a 10 months (some suggest longer) before striking him. h ttp://w ww.realclearpolitics.c om/video/2012/05/07/general_obama_knew_of_bin_ladens_location_since_summer_of_2010.html (continued)
"Did we stop borrowing from China?"
If you are implying the US borrowed from China, perhaps you could tell us how much the US borrowed under the Obama administration and for what purpose.
Is that the best you have..........blame Bush? LOL. You must not remeber voting for Obama the last 2 times.
Did we stop borrowing from China?
We went deep into your mentioned "shxxtter",beright, when Bush signed an unfunded tax break, and borrowed from China to fund the Iraq and Afghanistan actions. How many jobs were lost during his administrations, and how many have been created since 2009? Hmmm. You haven't had to drop your membership to the club, so why are you whining ?
