asknot, once she was identified as being a consul from india they should have handled the case much differently. it also seems that hey made the arrest at the courthouse and should have already have known who and what position she held along with her diplomatic rights. from reading the article by CNN, india referred to her treatment as "barbaric". i am stunned in that i wounder if they have ever ventured outside of their domed palatial governmental buildings to see the squalor in which the lowest of their society reside. i used to visit a webcam that was streaming live video from a village in India. pretty nasty. their reaction was a little over the top, but in some ways i am envious that they "nip it in the bud" so to speak.

Good morning,lts-to just boil it down, I do agree, generally, that our assistance programs can often prove to be spawning pools for sophisticated ,lifetime, welfare addicted living/careers.I think 'throwing fewer bones' is only a part of a solution.

Back on topic. I think that Prez Obama has been disserved by some of his "comfortable" staff member "friends/czars that he should can immediately like Clinton did. The people responsible for the Unaffordable Care website, NSA, IRS, BATF (Fast and Furious), Those Secret Service fellas that were with prostitutes in South America a few yrs ago and anyone else that has FAILED him should be discharged immediately. He can still do that.. Think what that act would do for the country at this time. Appears to me he has surrounded himself with idiots that are doing his legacy a dis service. If he really cares about the small people, the lower and middle classes like he campaigned, then this act would prove it and raise moral and confidence in the country.

Asknot. I know you werent. Gays and lesbians do not pose a problem to me at all. In fact I have relatives that are. My point is that one cannot even utter that they disagree with something like that without being politically castrated. We are all entitled to our opinions. My experience is that most gays and homosexuals are very good and nice pleasant people. My biggest hurdle is the actual mental picture of a man having relataions with another man. EEeccckkkk. Sorry.

moderation, government was created with a purpose in mind. i do not think it was created as way to directly enrich or support others by legislatively fleecing the pockets of others. i don't think you will find many that mind supporting many aspects of the operation and mission of our government. i think we as a people have made great strides in offering folks the opportunity to achieve many of their goals in life. from the public education system to the state supported schools of higher education we have given our citizens ample opportunity to prepare themselves for their future. sadly many people waste their opportunities knowing that should they choose to fail the ones that did not sqander their opportunity will be forced to support them by way of political pick-pocketing. we continue to sit idly by while our representatives continue to remove any incentive for those to escape from dependency to self-sufficiency. industrious and motivated people have always sought and found their pl

if we didn't have the government we have, the land would have no timber, the rural areas would have similar conditions that existed at "Love Canal",only much worse,- and only the well connected could move up in society.

moderation, i am certain you understand what makes the economy thrive. however you neglect to address the fact so many exhibit the "greed is good" train of thought when others are providing their total existence without any appreciable reciprocation. ture they are consumers with taxpayers money buying goods and services. when the percentage tilts pass the 50-50 mark....we have Greece and we have a major problem. i'll assume that you'll agree that anything beyond what you consume at any given time can be considered greed. if that is the case then we are all greedy. in our society, betterment of ones situation can be considered greed as well. to me that is what we should all strive for in our lives. you live the life you make except when government tyranny stops you dead in your tracks.

lts-there is also an attitude in the corporate world that greed is good.i didn't say profit, I said greed.i do understand what truly makes our economy thrive, and one needs to earn a bit more than a mere subsistance wage to make it healthy again.

asknot, i am glad that you are hopeful and have some confidence in some of our young folks willing to take a stab at governance. if they are products of the educational process from which this president came, then i would suspect we will not have the miraculous turn-around that so many are desiring. the president and the democrats i think have allowed many to be comfortable enough to figure out that there is no real incentive to produce. if you take care of their housing, food, health, entertainment and transportation, you have created nothing more than a dependent. if you create the atmosphere for reward from investment, hard work, education, innovation and pride in getting out of your government provided lifestyle you will see a real change in our country. you can rest assured that the great industrial revolution and the great strides in innovation and productivity were not made by those that were on the government unemployment dime.

Why is it politically incorrect to be against abortion (fetus homicide) and gay rights now a days????

@asknot- in the world of politics, it's the 9th round and the Dems have both eyes swelled shut and gasping for air. One punch would send them down but the Republicans just sit there on their stool arguing with their trainer over what to do next.

I've always said that one of the main problems the Republicans have is that they cannot give the public a vision beyond, "No Obama!" and "Obama is wrong!". They shouldn't get mad at the electorate when they don't follow after them when they give them no reason to.

asknot, i have concluded that most people have become apathetic to the politcal process. it is evidenced by the fiasco which is Obamacare. just like our spending and borrowing problem, the distasteful side of our governents grand programs are delayed or covered up as to shield us from the calamity in which our nations reality resides. the republicans are intimidated by the so-called "tea-party" as they also threaten the democrat party. i have the strong feeling that the democrats would react in much the same way if the roles were reversed. either way....the gravy train and sham that is our governmentt will continue until our reckoning day. so we might as well pick our favorite distraction and ride it out.

Even with all the issues of Obamacare, Americans still are not leaning Republican in regards to the next congressional election.
