Banning Walmart???? really
Vote with your dollars Tired, and shop local, as much as you can.
I guess I don't understand your question.
Tired, please explain on how they are the symptom and not the disease.
And also, did you read the politifact link I posted?
If so, do you disagree with that, and if not, how can you, being conservative, shop at walmart? or promote them?
I know banning walmart doesn't cure anything, but its a start. I'd rather promote local small business and American jobs that don't increase welfare! Crazy right!
I don't go to Walmart, I vote with my dollars. I spend them at Giant Eagle, Apex, etc etc.
And Tired, I don't agree with your statement about people that could only work at walmart for 2 reason. 1 I fill in at a local downtown establishment and they employ 2 special needs people, and growing up, I always remember them having jobs! but 2, so what? If Walmart is the highest contributing business to people on welfare, how is that an asset??
WalMart is the symptom not the disease,
Well all I can say is WALMART is not the reason those people are disappearing,
ASK, I think your heart is in the right place, I think its misdirected however.
Tired, I don't really follow the hollywood hype and would not for a second give a rats a55 about the political opinion of them.
And I don't know what the exact definition of middle class income would be, but here's where I would set it at, a number that one works 40-50 hours a week, can pay the bills, retire at 60-ish and put there kids through college and go on a vacation every year. Those people are disappearing!

Ask, let us not forget, Walmart hires people that a lot of people wont. I have seen lots of folks working there that were not gifted with the level of capabilities I enjoy. And I think that is a good thing, otherwise they would be completely on GOvt programs.
It's really as simple as . . . don't work for them.
ASK you can vote with your dollars, for instance, I will NEVER use a self checkout. I know its a small thing but I want to make sure someone has the job of checking me out at Lowes Walmart etc.
Do you not think that is a negative on the country?
We pay for their employees food, health care and living expenses and they support jobs overseas, while shutting down small businesses where they set up shop. How does that make sense???
"Walmart employees represent the largest group of Medicaid and food stamp recipients in many states, costing the taxpayer $1,000 per worker."
"In state after state, the largest group of Medicaid recipients is Walmart employees. I'm sure that the same thing is true of food stamp recipients. Each Walmart ‘associate’ costs the taxpayers an average of more than $1,000 in public assistance," Grayson" politifact.co m/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/dec/06/alan-grayson/alan-grayson-says-more-walmart-employees-medicaid-/
I do share at least your concerns about the importation of too many things that we should provide for ourselves, energy is one for sure.
Ask, don't BUY them. Its really as simple as that.
Is Hollywood a voice for the right of the left? That is why its a viable comparison.
Tired, why do you continue to assume I envy any man? I work hard as heck, and make an OK living, I'm fine with where I stand and what I do.
But I don't think questioning why most of the richest people in this country belong to one family, earns AMAZING profits, and yet, keep their employees below the full time hours so they have to provide benefits and pay them just below the poverty line so they are forced to get food stamps, medicaid etc to survive and that doesn't seem wrong to you?
Honestly I just don't get it. 4 of the top 10 richest people in America are Waltons, its not envy, its more frustration because you and I are paying their labor for them while purchasing products that support overseas jobs!
Ok you have made some charges about Walmarts business practices, can you support those with evidence?
Define middle class for me. I hear everyone toss that phrase around but have never heard a politician put a number on it. In MY opinion, our middle class is being destroyed not by Walmart, but by the GOVERMENT through regulation. I can expand on this if requested
