Obama's foreign policy turnaround proving ever elusive
Even long-time allies are wondering what America is up to
By Mark Gollom
theGreek, have you not been reading my posts???lol. I'm on the fence between disgruntled and ticked off at both parties. I feel by the time the next election comes, I may be either insane or forced to pop some of those happy pills doctors seem to hand out like candy. Lets hope some daylight starts shining for us all sooner than later.
Asknot - Don't dwell on that too long or you will be disgruntled like all the rest of us Heee heee.
Obama's new push to save his legacy
by Douglas E. Schoen
All in a day's work for any accomplished Nobel Peace Prize recipient.
One thing that does really tick me off.
Obama promised a full troop withdrawal from Afghanistan by 2014, now, he changed it to 2024.
And we're continuing $4B worth of aid to Pakistan!
Kunect, sorry, not your peeps! my bad
168 times in American history have judicial nominations been filibustered! Half of them have happened under Obama! Face it, he's not doing well, but your peeps are taking their ball and going home!
Maybe Bush could loan his "Mission Accomplished" banner to Obama. Benghazi Barry COULD string it up at the sound of the snap of the trap shutting down each one of his attempted, politically questionable, possibly illegal machinations.
Of course he'd have to use non-indelible ink (just in case) to post the prefix 'un-' in front of "Accomplished" (I know, I know! As should have Bush concerning Iraq).
well, OK, there was hate for Bush, but not this level.
Kunect, I get it, he's not doing well. But Bush had just as many scandals, and I don't remember the hate for him. His tenure started us on this path. There were Benghazi's, wiretapping, fraud etc under him just as bad as Obama, IMO, if not worse.
We're in a political quagmire of fools, and I hope someone steps up and takes the reigns that is worthy! Although I doubt the American public would vote for that person.
I'd like folks to understand why Obama possibly avoided the 150th anniversary commencement of the Gettysburg Address (even though Lincoln is Obama's favorite president).
It would be hard to show up at site that embodied the concept of a government "of, by and for the people" when you're governing one "of" continuing scandals, "by" constitutional circumvention and "for" redirection toward a European-styled socialistic state.
I'd have avoided bathing in the light of Lincoln's spirit at Gettysburg too, if I were Obama.
You're right kunect, I remember now, but at least admit you're heavy R leaning, as am I, although, I know you'll laugh at that! Heck, I was a Ron Paul supporter before he went whacky! Mitt was a joke as a nominee.
I honestly really like Christie, I think his lack of tolerance for BS is what is needed right now.
That's my problem! I don't have "a party". I wanted to see Bush/Cheney indicted for taking us into Iraq and then, along comes Obama. I registered as a Democrat, in order to vote against Hillary in the primaries, and I couldn't, in good conscious, possibly consider extending the Bush legacy by voting for McCain.
So, you guessed it, Obama got my vote...the first time. Then the Repubs nominate Romney, who I was forced to vote for but whom, I sincerely believe, wasn't serious about wanting the job.
If you'd been following these threads long enough, you might remember that I was arguing in favor of Herman Cain getting the Republican nod. Please remember that the next time you think that I might be hiding a pointy hat in my closet.
Kunect, I pray you're wrong! You may very well be right! But I'm gonna hope that you're wrong, as you should! You should venture out your research, many people think ACA is gonna be a plus rather than a minus, I admit I'm skeptical, but there are enough "experts" out there that think its going to work for the better.!
And you better be careful of your own party, it seems like you have some kamikaze's determined to sink your ship!
The D's are staring down the barrel of my decision through November 2014 and then again in 2016.
I rest well in my decision knowing that if Obama's blessings hit me, they will hit multiple tens of millions of other American workers, most of whom will feel just as 'appreciative' as I.
DEMOCRATS - It's not too late to get your ship together and throw that T-urd overboard.
Kunect, that's an absurd thing to say. That D's will lose your vote FOREVER! What if a great D comes along in 4 years. How is he culpable for the actions of todays? By your logic, you should never vote for an R or a D again, as both have done horrible things.
asknot - I DO have other fingers to be pointing at other people, most for the mindless Democrats in the US Senate. Of course I'll reserve my middle finger for Prince Harry Reid.
ALL DEMOCRATS NEED TO UNDERSTAND THIS; If I lose my company funded, group rate health care insurance because of (even some unintended consequence brought on by) ObamaCare, you will NEVER get a vote from me again.
Greek, I'll admit to that, we've had 2 turds in a row unless Barack gets things in order! The difference I would say is that congress wasn't 49% against Bush about EVERYTHING.
Face it, this Congress is a POS, and not helping anything! The stats if you google that title show that. The least amount of work done in a long time! Too busy whining and moaning to actually accomplish anything.
BHO said he was gonna transform DC before he got elected and he dang sure did. It is the worst it ever has been and the liberals are trying to shirk the blame onto others, with the help of the reporting pool of course. You cannot get along by not including people - lack of inclusion is the worst form of racism and it is being done by BHO and the liberals to the R's and T party....
