When should a person be punished for stating an opinion?

As many people might know, 'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson gave an interview to GQ Magazine and gave his colorful opinion on different social topics. The response from various groups made A&E pull him from the show. So the discussion is, if someone is asked for their opinion and gives it willingly, should they be punished afterward?

Is there any way to stop the C and C Toyota add from showing up when the Times page loads up? How about the ZEDO adds?

Come on mod, that's the best you can do? Every television program is scripted, even the news. The opinion shows may be spontaneous to an extent, that's about the only exception. And, they're edited to present the wishes of the producer.

Just read a book dealing with Flatt's & Scrugg's, where they talked about the difference between their experience doing a television program of their own, and their experience guesting on "The Beverly Hillbillies." They were amazed, their own show done back East, they did 3 or 4 episodes in a day. Guesting on the "Hillbillies", took a week of filming to complete a half hour show.

The episode that Mod refers to in the post below was approved for broadcast by the same A&E group that now chooses to sensor Phil. Who is gigging who?

some things are staged.....reality is not always REALITY. (caps for emphasis only). remember the creative editing by the producers in which they seemed to be using foul language but in actuality were not.

I don't remember that one but I hope to see it in a re-run

Who can recall the episode that involved gigging on private property, and Phil eluding security personnel, while in possession of the frogs, abandons the boys and makes it safely and proudly home. I love that message, don't you.

Kunec- your comment about the perp's nephew may, one day, have been a missed insight into that behavior, for you.

I'm not pushing hate. I just recited websites and historical revelations and my personal experiences on the subject. Just because someone wants to claim (or believe) they are 'cross wired' is not cause to revamp our entire society in order to embrace them.

I truly feel they will answer for their deeds on the other side. I was not about to ruin the lives of my offender's wife and children and, at the time of his offenses, I wouldn't have known how to proceed.

I think stickhauler's comment of, "it led to their demise" is the most relevant of any expressed here.

BTW - The young nephew of the offender went on to when the title of Ms. Florida Female Impersonator, one year. I guess old "...to do my duty to God and my country..." had an effect on his young life also.

BTW, asknot.

In desiring to label me as a "sicko", is that not the cloth of punishment "for stating an opinion"?
