When have we culturally "arrived"?

In any movement, there is always a moment when one should be able to say that we as a culture have arrived at the end and equality is achieved. This goes for everything from women's rights, minority rights and also rights of the LGBT community. When does such a movement for equality say mission accomplished?

I find it intellectually hindering to support any kind of political party. The inflexibility one takes on when supporting a political party honestly does no good.

Because as we have seen from both parties in particular the Republicans is that they will go against something they supported if the other side agrees with it...just out of political spite.

So if you are a staunch Democrat or Republican pat yourself on the back...you are part of the reason the political system is so jacked up in this country.

I just can not figure out how people can be so stupid to allow themselves to be lead around by political talking heads and the politicians like a bunch of complaint sheep.

Guess what folks the government we have is the government we deserve! Its a direct result of the ineptitude of the people.

That Louis C.K. sure sounds like he practices what he preaches by calling kids Ugly... So much for acceptance and tolerance !! That is part of the problem with this whole deal. Calling people names cause they are calling him names is a stupid way to alienate everyone !!

Arizona is an odd state. I would be shocked if the Gov didn't veto it because if they don't the Supreme Court would eventually do it for them.

Kendall78...your last sentence also applies to those that, in reality, only think they are "open-minded". let their self-image give themselves solice.

There are those that will never be open minded to other people's beliefs. They will always be threatened by those that are different.

And there was the cross at the veterans cemetery that officials decided to take down because it offended some. I am not saying one way or another. You guys asked why people think there is a war on religions, I am telling you some of the stories that they are talking about. Talk about don't kill the messenger - Jeesh !!

What's more if you don't like it, don't watch now how hard is that? I don't care much for msnbc so like most of America I don't watch it. Simple, if they don't have viewers they will just go away except of course NPR which we have to subsidize.

With ALL the media sources out there why obsess so about one outlet? Is it because it's the most watched cable news program by far?

One has to wonder why the leftist on this forum obsess so much over Fox news. Clearly msnbc is a left wing propaganda machine but I rarely if ever mention it, yet if you could search by keyword, I bet fox is mentioned more than any other word.

O Neill. Dont you remember when the athiest society of america posted that sign in Times Square saying we did NOT need Christ in Christmas last Dec? I saw the interview with the HMIC of the atheist society and a preist debating it on (I think) CNN.
