Is the GOP "out of touch" with women?

A recent CNN poll has 55% of Americans saying that the GOP doesn't understand women. Is it true that the GOP, and by extension Right-leaning Conservatives, really out of touch or is it just a perceived truth without merit? Is the GOP allowing the Liberals/Dems/Left to define to the public what they stand for?

fred...if you will dishonor the vow made to your wife and your children, how well will you honor the oath that you made to the american people? That's what i love about Democrats they surely have low expectations for their own.

I have some friends that are statees and they do not care for the fact that the women take one obstacle course and them another and are signed off on some physical duties. It occurrs in a lot of industries. But you were a teacher and peobably dont understand physical labor activities in an industrial setting. No insult intended, just telling it how it is.

The presidents life is EVERY citizens business. That was proven when Romney ran. You are a famous elected official, thats the way it is !! We elect them because we trust them with our country, economy ourselves and our kids and parents. When they are deceiving us, it is very bad !!

Slick Willie "D" Clinton was a General in the Democratz war on women. Anthony Weiner? A Captain of his little dinghy. Elliot Spitzer? Staff Sergeant. Keep them pregnant by illegitimate sperm donors, and cranking out more welfare dependent Democrat voters is the Democrat war on women. Lower the education standards so they don't even realize how ignorant they are. Poverty is the Democrat slave quarters, and they D know how to keep them there. A Conservative Libertarian R tide will lift all boats, men and women, beginning when the new Senate is sworn in next January.

Equal rights for women means to me, running the same obstacle course as men for the Highway patrol academy and boot camp. Not a shortcut version so they can drive the patrol car.

" I am just saying this is ONE area that the law is very biased."

Very much so and that is mostly thanks to our patriarchal dominated culture trying to shift into something more equal.

Eventually I think we will get to the point where a woman will have sole say what happens to her body and the results of her choices...like having a child.

And at the same time, the father will be able to choose to assit in raising his progeny or not if he desires.

It wouldn't surprise me if sometime in the future that when one gets married that there isn't a sort of children pre-nup in that before a couple gets married they decide what will happen if the wife gets pregnant.

"I hold them BOTH equally responsible"

While they both are equal in the act, the result is not equal though. If the father wants to end the life of the fetus, they would have to do a physical act against the woman that would be against her will. That would not do.

If a woman makes the choice, she is taking the physical risks willingly. There isn't only one result in the "act" they performed but two.

One is that the woman is now going through a physical change and the other is that she will eventually give birth to a child. They are not exclusivelt the same thing.

A woman is a sentient being and her physical rights overide the desire of the man. If the man is wanting her to get an abortion and she doesn't want to...sorry guy but it ***** to be you.

Tired said, "its a MANS business when the law will force him to pay for 18 years.."

Actually, I've known women to pay child support, so it's not all on the men. Mostly it is of course but the law is finally trying to level off.

NasCarNut

the CHOICE was made when they engaged in the ACTIVITY

Agreed, so if the woman isn't using BC why doesn't the man offer to use some??...why leave it up to Just the woman??...

NasCarNut

its a MANS business when the law will force him to pay for 18 years if it lives but says he has no say in it.

The man had his say when he slept with the woman Without protection...why is it just the womans responsibility for birth control??... protection...

@Ask- what do you think if Congress was 70% women and was voting on a vasectomy bill, how would the average male citizen react? Would they be screaming it's none of Congress's business? I think so.

A little clarification on my part, I do not consider all Republicans as GOP. When I say GOP, I am referring to the active politicans of the party and not the everyday voter. I think most run of a mill Republican tend to be more liberal on women issues than the politicians that get voted into office.

If the GOP would grab ahold of those talking points and never mention abortion again for a decade it would serve them a whole lot better.

Even when the GOP is making good points on the abortions topic, it will just come out wrong in the media. The fact that they cannot see this is one of the signs that they just don't get it.
