Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?

Well Bob, if you're not going to do it, I guess I'll have to ... Some of today's "pretend patriots" might want to look at what is happening in Egypt ... A real "revolution" isn't pretty ... Some Americans, however, are claiming that President Obama and his administration are "tyrants", and (in the words of failed Nevada Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle) "Second Amendment Solutions" might be needed ... Is she right? Or is she just "right-wing"? Inquiring minds want to know!

Are you trying to act ignorant, or are you truly stupid? A couple of HUGE differences between 1994 and now apply. And, we've covered it before, but since you can't recall them, here goes:

The 1994 ban prohibited manufacture and sale of new production firearms with more than one of the features they now cite. The same rifle, absent a second feature, could still be built. Currently owned firearms could be sold or transferred.

This time around, if you currently owned a firearm cited as eligible under their criteria, you'd have to register it. You could not sell it or transfer it to anyone. So, when a current owner passed away, their heirs, or executor of their estate would be required to transport it to local law enforcement for destruction.

However, since it would be registered to your name, no other person could legally handle it in any manner. So how exactly would anyone legally transport a firearm they couldn't handle?

We've been through the difference between the 1994 ban, and what's being tried now. Listing them again would be like your idiotic "Cut and paste" game. You, if you're capable of reading and comprehending, have seen here in posts by many of us WHY this is different! You just choose to either ignore it, or disagree with us. That's your right, we assure that people can express their opinion, whether we agree with them or not.

Perhaps enforcing current laws on the books prohibiting mentally ill people from owning firearms would help? This idiotic idea of passing more laws, that we lack resources to enforce, is the definition of insanity. Especially in this case, where legislators plan to try to pass laws that wouldn't have prevented either of those crimes.

It's much like the case of closing the barn door AFTER the horse has already escaped! You find a logical reasoned response, and I'm betting most gun owners would agree with you. But planning to restrict the rights of 99.99999% of gun owners to prevent crazy folks going on a killing spree is idiocy! If they're going to kill, they will, with whatever means is available.

Someone needs to take whatever guns Munster has. There is no good reason for him to have it !! PERIOD !!!

So then, since you're convinced you're right, why are rifle actions mounted in polymer "evil", but basically the same action mounted in wood "OK?"

How does including a pistol grip to a rifle make it more deadly? A bayonet lug? A collapsible stock? A flash suppressor?

There's no VALID reason to ban modern sporting rifles! All you, or any of the various idiot gun ban folks are offering is an emotional response that would make them "feel good."

These style rifles were banned for 10 years. Rifles of ANY style account for less than 1% of firearm related homicides. Such a ban would be meaningless!

It is truthfully a waste of time trying to debate or reason with a long-time retired DUES EXEMPT union member who thinks that all he has to do is repeat his propaganda and pollute every topic with his stale CUT & PASTE rants filled with name-calling, insults, wild claims, and lies.

You are using your bullying tactics to change the subject again?

The Second Amendment Rights of Americans really being threatened.

Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The Statement of Purpose from the bill read: To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo. Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power. Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.

We need to own weapons because misled fools like you think we are a threat to you which we are not. Just keep listening to your chorus of liars. Pretty soon the public will get fed up and impeach a few of them..

Posted 36 days ago.

Here is the truth . . .

If you are as hostile, volatile, aggressive, and "fired up" in person as you are here . . . There is NO VALID REASON for you own any weapon.

Fact: unfortunately, some do slip through the cracks in GUN background checks.

Your problem is you start with name-calling, insults, and wild claims. If you tell the TRUTH you shouldn't need any "name-calling, insults, and wild claims".

Posted 36 days ago.

FACT: Criminals and the mentally ill ignore Gun Laws just as Munster ignores the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy with his name-calling and insults.
