Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?

Well Bob, if you're not going to do it, I guess I'll have to ... Some of today's "pretend patriots" might want to look at what is happening in Egypt ... A real "revolution" isn't pretty ... Some Americans, however, are claiming that President Obama and his administration are "tyrants", and (in the words of failed Nevada Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle) "Second Amendment Solutions" might be needed ... Is she right? Or is she just "right-wing"? Inquiring minds want to know!

I agree,I dont see the attraction either. However it is another example of the futility of any weapons ban. A person with a will to get a weapon will always find a way.

"Single or limited use?" Spending all that cash for a 3-D printer to do something you can do with sheet metal and a welder? I don't see the attraction myself.

Stick, a single or limited use weapon would'nt require heat treating, think derringer or pepper gun. Most of the smaller handgun loads are fairly low pressure too, you can build a 22short zip-gun inside a plastic pen so the material would'nt need to be as strong as you might think.

I saw some police from NY on Hannity this morning that had to unload their mags to 7 rounds !!! They are Hot Hot over this. Cuomo does not even know what he is doing !!You can still own a semi auto rifle as long as it doesn't have a pistol grip or hold over 7 rounds which there are no 7 round mags !!

Munster- law enforcement is not jumping up and down with enthusiasm over this issue. I am sure there will be a concerted effort to document attendees. "WE"( using r1k's definition) will have faces, and names. Oh,and the data gleened from those devices mounted on cruisers to record license #'s will make 'HAL' a happy computer,... I mean, camper.

Caspiansynn, I've been following the discussion of whether it's possible to even create a functioning ammo magazine on a 3-D printer, and from what I've read, they can't even do that yet. If that's not even possible yet, creating a firearm can't be a reality yet. What material do you make the barrel and chamber out of? The printer can't create a heat treated part like that.

We

Pronoun

Used by a speaker to refer to himself or herself and one or more other people considered together: "we could have come to a common sense conclusion."

Used to refer to the speaker together with other people regarded in the same category: "We the people"

Thanks to Obama and Biden raising the awareness of this issue, guns sales have gone through the roof and there are now more guns and ammo in private hands in the USA than at any time in our history. If they wood have taken a more common sense approach instead of using the words "ban" or "banned" we could have come to a common sense conclusion. Obama’s confrontational style, the old us against them theme, has generated unintended consequences once again.
