Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?

Well Bob, if you're not going to do it, I guess I'll have to ... Some of today's "pretend patriots" might want to look at what is happening in Egypt ... A real "revolution" isn't pretty ... Some Americans, however, are claiming that President Obama and his administration are "tyrants", and (in the words of failed Nevada Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle) "Second Amendment Solutions" might be needed ... Is she right? Or is she just "right-wing"? Inquiring minds want to know!

Look sticky you know as well as I do that you can legally buy all military style ammo(RE:223,30-06 etc, etc) in hollow point or soft tip , so that's no excuse !Just accept the facts !

I understand this, neither of the bullet designs you cite have ever been released for the civilian market as surplus. I've shot for the better part of over 50 years and have never seen either. And that counts for the time I was in the Infantry. Where you'll see any type of small arms ammo in common use, and all the various ammo that has been used for the last 40 years or so.

And yes, I'm quite aware of the difference between a "cartridge" and a "bullet." I'm betting you needed to look it up though.

So, since you can't buy this horrible ammo, having a firearm capable of firing it doesn't make much difference. And since the laws your anti-gun "useful idiots" introduced and tried to get passed, exempted a firearm that shoots a round used in an AR type rifle, can we see an end to your "cut and pasting" the same idiotic phrase about that style rifle?

Does'nt matter , if we can keep one nutjob from showing up at a school or a movie theater with a assault weapon and killing dozens it will be worth it !If there were a good , VALID reason for a civilian to own one then maybe not but so far I've not heard any !

Gun homicides have dropped steeply in the United States since their peak in 1993, a pair of reports released Tuesday showed, adding fuel to Congress' battle over whether to tighten restrictions on firearms.

A study released Tuesday by the government's Bureau of Justice Statistics found that gun-related homicides dropped from 18,253 in 1993 to 11,101 in 2011. That's a 39 percent reduction.

Another report by the private Pew Research Center found a similar decline by looking at the rate of gun homicides, which compares the number of killings to the size of the country's population. It found that the number of gun homicides per 100,000 people fell from 7 in 1993 to 3.6 in 2010, a drop of 49 percent.

Both reports also found the rate of non-fatal crimes involving guns was also down by around 70 percent over that period.

But perhaps because of the intense publicity generated by recent mass shootings such as the December massacre of 20 school children and six educators in Newtown,

Also the twist of the barrel had something to do with the wounding ability !

You do understand the difference between a bullet and a cartridge don't you ? Some military ammo is designed to do different things than a standard FMJ bullet ! The Russians has what has been termed the spoon tip bullet that somehow skirts the Geneva convention , and the USA at one time made bullets that had a bubble in the end and both of these caused the bullet to yaw once it encountered flesh ! Making nasty wound cavities !

IF military grade ammo was any different than what is available on the civilian market, you would never see surplus ammo sold there.

But admitting that fact would negate your idiotic argument that a civilian market "AR" clone is somehow more dangerous than a Ruger "Mini-14."

And again sticky , read it all !Don't be stupid , oh wait you already are ! I think we all know what constitutes a military cartridge !specfically for a military weapon ! Some are designed to do as much damage to a human body as possible !RE: spoon tip , air bubble etc !

I asked because that reply shows how stupid you truly are, ALL of those cartridges are, or have been used by the military. And if, in "full metal jacket" construction, as military ammo is, they tend to go through whatever they strike.

Since he is unable to force his faulty logic and his tyranny in the forums, the long-time welfare addicted , food stamp loving wrongriki has to solely rely on name-calling, insults, and wild unproven claims about others.

by Scott Clement,Washington Post. 90 percent of Americans want expanded background checks on guns. Why isn’t this a political slam dunk? Nine in 10 Americans support expanding background checks on gun purchases in a recent Washington Post-ABC News poll, an extraordinary level of agreement on a political issue and a finding that’s been duplicated in nearly every major public poll.
