Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?

In bible times a military assault weapon could have been way more devastating than a rifle. Pouring boiling OIL over the side of a castle onto the enemy. Roman swords were smaller and therefore could be swung faster and more frequently than standard swords. That is all I can think of now but with some research, I could show you some mideval assault weaponry that would make a rifle look like a bb gun. And they made people die a horribly slow and painful death. So Munster, the rifle isnt the 1st military assault weapon available to common citizens.

Rifles didnt exist when the bible was written. BUT Jesus did tell the disciples that if they didnt have a sword to trade their cloaks for one!! A person cannot assume that Jesus did not want people to defend themselves from evil with weapons or anything they could.
