Are the Second Amendment "rights" of Americans really being "threatened" - or is this complaint just another gimmick to get the right-wing, reactionary base "fired up" for 2012?

Well Bob, if you're not going to do it, I guess I'll have to ... Some of today's "pretend patriots" might want to look at what is happening in Egypt ... A real "revolution" isn't pretty ... Some Americans, however, are claiming that President Obama and his administration are "tyrants", and (in the words of failed Nevada Senatorial candidate Sharron Angle) "Second Amendment Solutions" might be needed ... Is she right? Or is she just "right-wing"? Inquiring minds want to know!

free, you truly are an idiot! "Millitary assault rifles" are already strictly restricted! And, none have been used in any crime since the 1930's!

What Feinstein sought to ban are rifles that "have the appearance" a military assault rifle has, yet they shoot a single round per pull of the trigger.

A "military assault rifle", made prior to 1986, can be purchased, and owned by civilians. If you apply for a $200.00 tax stamp, go through very intense background checks, get permission from your local head law enforcement agents, and have very deep pockets. The cheapest I've seen cost in excess of $8,000.00.

No moron, they didn't collect all the AR/AK rifles in civilian hands last time! And we've covered that ground, the 1994 AWB "grandfathered" existing rifles, and no restrictions were made on selling or transferring them.

THIS "go-round", anyone who owns an existing rifle of that type could keep it, BUT, when they died, their heirs would automatically be criminals, because they would not be the person the firearm was "registered" to. The day this nation tries to enact a "registration" system will be the day they see a lot of Americans rise up!

You still argue for such a law? You tell us that we'll "get" to keep our .22's, shotguns, and hunting rifles? For how long? Until they decide they're too dangerous? The fact? There is a small minority of gun owners who commit crimes. Where are the laws to restrict THEM?

interesting use. i will keep that in mind. actually a few freeze-dried or stuffed democrats on display to show future generations the face of our near descent into the societal abyss may be a worthwile effort. :-)

NO, THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU'VE BEEN ARGUING! At distance, I'll take the AR-15 and give you the shotgun. You're arguing, take away the military-appearing rifles, PERIOD.

The founding fathers never added a dangling participle to the 2nd Amendment specifying the meant to leave only "sporting-hunting weapons" in the hands of the people. They meant arms for the people with which to protect THEIR FREEDOM against an oppressor. When the Bill of Rights was produced, the guns used for organized military puposes WERE the EXACT SAME WEAPONS that were in the hand of the people. It's only historically-challenged morons, that have sensed a ill-base comlacency with government and believe in totally minimizing the technologies of weaponry available to the people, "that dont know squat !"

Do you read anyone elses posts ?

good afternoon moderation. the game is going pretty well. just shaking a bit of rust off of the old joints. my attention has beeen shifted toward getting the yard back in shape. quite a few sticks and such that need removing. i am certain that you have been as busy with your own "outdoor areas"! :-) i feel that the fewer righties you have the more everyones pockets will fear. you may wish to reconsider the benefit of their eradication from the congress or senate. hillary would be bad news for everyone. be careful what you propose as the horror may very well come to pass....sigh.

I'll tell you what Munster. You take your FEARSOME AR-15 and YOUR THIRTY RD. MAGAZINE. Leave me with an Rem. 870 12-gauge loaded with seven rounds of #4 buckshot and we'll go at it with CQB inside a building (that's where YOUR SUPPOSED AR-15 slaughters HAVE occured).

For every SINGLE, little .22 caliber round you'll be sending my way, I'll be returning TWENTY-SEVEN, .24 caliber lead balls your way. You don't think that would do more damage, quickly, than your AR-15? At the right distances, you'd may be lucky to have any eyes left with which to see me or hands left to hold your rifle.

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT GUNS?

Yeah, for a "select-fire" rifle. You keep calling a civilian rifle, only capable of "one trigger pull-one round fired" using that term. What you liberals wanted to ban is NOT an assault rifle, those are already highly regulated, and the only models that can be bought have to be produced before the 1986 cutoff date to register any "full auto" firearm in civilian hands.

It looks like the plan is to add the ban bill as an amendment to another bill that the right will want desperately.

Munster blubbers, "And konect what the hel* has that got to do with this ? They arent taking all weapons , just assault weapons !"

Here's a News Flash! THEY won't be taking any weapons. If tomorrow some Nutball enters an unprotected institution with a shotgun loaded with buckshot and kills as many people that died in Newtown, I suppose that you Leftists will be happy with just your *********** over it AND NOT be demanding shotguns be added to your list? To quote your 79 year-old (possibly senial) Queen of the gun grabbers, Dianne Goldman Fienstein,"I'm not in the sixth grade", Munster.

lts- how's your game? you may have to loosen your purse strings a bit more in the next couple of years. a majority of citizens, in and out of the nra, support increased restrictions on the purchasing of firearms, and if the momentum continues, there will be fewer righties in the house of reps. both houses and hillary...did I hear a long sigh........?ha

may should read killings "by" the insane and delusional. sorry

luvthesouth

munster, what will be next after the bill you support fails to stop the senseless and random killings of the insane and delusional? what is the ultimate goal or answer to the problem? be honest and admit it is logically the removal of the weapons. you will then create the defenseless society that those that drive your passion seek. even in your mind, you have to admit that the legislation being proposed will not stop what drives your rally cry.

BeRight

Harry Reid and the likes of Al Franken had a chance to do something about assault weapons but the Democrats vote for the ban were MIA's. The Dems failed to live up to the rhetoric……they talked the talk but did not walk the walk. Wimps.
