The Milwaukee Police Chief was certainly NOT out-of-line! He was merely asserting what most INTELLIGENT police-officers believe - that closing gun-show loopholes, doing extensive & universal background checks on ALL gun-purchases, and eliminating inter-state gun-trafficking (i.e. from regulation-free Gary, Indiana into Chicago & via the I-95 "pipeline" from gun-shows in the sunny southland into cities like Philly, Baltimore, NYC, Newark, and Boston) are the way to ENFORCE law and keep tragedies from happening so often! ... Sometime when I have more time, let's discuss how a "law-abiding" gun-owner like the late Nancy Lanza was allowed to bring assault-weapons into a home where her psychopathic son lived!

Fortunately, the majority of today's law-enforcement officials are like Chief Flynn and not like "Bull" Connor or Joe "papers please" Arpaio ... true enough pat. i wished they had as much vigor in preventing the foreign invasion that we have been experiencing for the past decade or so. having a national registry is just one step closer to the (un)lawful confiscation of our weapons. we should not be so foolish to assist them in their endeavor. i particulary enjoy getting advice from someone that has around the clock personal security that you and i provide. that is truly rich. btw, shorts on the golf course weather for the past few days but a cold front will be dipping down for the week-end. as a nod to workingstiff, we would welcome any gun manufacturer to come on down south. nice weather and friendly people...plus we are right-to-work state!

Logic and reason are the criteria that should be used when passing laws, not emotions and hysteria. Even the cherished measure your side is pushing allows some rifles shooting the 5.56 mm round, while banning another, made by the same company. It would ban a folding-stock "Mini-14", yet it allows one in a full stock.

They ended up spending 3 Billion, and police concluded that they only got 2 percent of gun owners to comply. And they didn't get any of their criminals to register theirs.

No what you dont understand is there are many weapons that are allowed and many that arent ! You dont see people hunting with flame throwers and its the same with assault weapons ! you'll keep your muskets and shotguns etc , but I think the bell tolls for your AK's and probably AR's !
