Jobs Jobs Jobs

Job's Bill. How to pay for it: Obama has proposed: •A limit on itemized deductions and exemptions for individuals who earn over $200,000 and families earning over $250,000, a tax increase that would raise about $400 billion over 10 years, according to Lew. •A provision to treat carried interest -- the interest earned by investment fund managers -- as ordinary income, rather than taxing it at the capital gains rate. That would raise $18 billion, Lew said. •Scrapping various oil and gas tax provisions which raise $40 billion. All three ideas or versions of them were part of the budget plan Obama proposed in early 2009. A reporter reminded spokesman Lew that a Democratic-controlled House and Senate had chosen to not pass these measures in 2009 and 2010. “You had a Democratic House and a Democratic Senate and it went nowhere. So how are you going to get it done now with a Republican House?” he asked? Great question.

Stillhere......congrats on your shelter pet. Pets such as dogs show that unconditional love exists...we just let our "higher" level of conciousness and self -absorption prevent the enviable attrbute. We all need to be more dog-like...at least in that respect....minus the schooling across the grass...although they do seem to enjoy it immensely.

SAN DIEGO— Touting its wide range of financially ruinous academic programs that can be tailored to meet anyone’s scheduling needs, officials at Enterprise College announced Monday that the online institution is committed to letting students amass a crippling amount of debt at their own individual pace. “Even if you work full-time and are busy raising a family, Enterprise College’s flexible courses make it easy to get back to school and take out enough student loans to completely devastate your personal finances for years to come,” said spokesperson Kerri Williams, describing how the for-profit college accommodates those who prefer to rack up their overwhelming debt a few thousand dollars at a time as well as those who would rather just plunge $30,000 into the red in two short years.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Puerto Rico's government says it cannot make an upcoming $58 million bond payment and is warning that the general fund will run out of liquidity by November if no action is taken.

Gubernatorial Chief of Staff Victor Suarez said Friday that the Public Finance Corporation does not have the money for a debt payment due Saturday.

The government contends that failure to make the payment will not constitute a default because it involves moral obligation bonds and there is no legal requirement to repay them. Economists reject that argument and say it will be the first default in the history of the U.S. territory.

Puerto Rico has been in a nearly decade-long economic slump and is struggling with a $72 billion public debt load that the governor says is unpayable.

Thanks OWO...it is always tough to lose a pet or any life for that matter. all of our pets have been adopted or dropped-off. i would love to have more but my wife and i have agreed not to replace as they pass... as we are getting older and need to begin to relinquish certain responsibilities.

Now just imagine how hard it is to be making minimum wage:

Do you think it is a smart move to go ahead and have children when you are working a minimum wage Job?

Kunectdots

How about not having any wages at all for many more soon-to-be former employees? I understand this is starting in California McDonalds now.

If I pushed the buttons correctly on my calculator, you would need about 76 hours a week at that magic number $15 dollars on hour to get to $58,900.

So two people working fulltime at $15/hour would be good to go.
