CLEAN... ENERGY

Offshore wind farms from New Jersey to Virginia took a big step closer to reality with the completion of a review that showed the renewable energy source would not cause major environmental damage, officials said today. Wind projects off the coasts of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and New Jersey are being studied. The Mid-Atlantic lease proposal follows the Cape Wind project in Massachusetts that was given the go-ahead in 2010 after 9 years of federal review."No developer should have to wait nine or 10 years," for approval, Salazar said. The response from the developers was "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Shop.... we are in a pickle in that we need to maintain the proper balance of the relationship between our CO2 and O2. we have to figure out ways in which to tilt the balance in our favor. personally i would like to see more tree's being planted. other than that it is up to those that set energy policies around the owrld and control of the worlds deforestation. we have done poorly in renewing that which we hve taken or manipulated. however, the earth herself does some pretty nasty things that affect our environment. that is something we just have to deal with.

Shop...it is happening at this moment. i think if anything, it will use market force to effect the change in our energy producers. with the funds as well as any tax credits offered by the governemnt, alternative can take over...and in some areas it should. i just think that, especially, the larger energy producers need to get onboard as quickly as possible. otherwise they risk loss of market and profit....both are a very bad thing.

But CO2 is NOT a pollutant

absolem when a viable alternative is available I think we could move to something more environmentally friendly but to try and force it is folly at best

Beright....it is a well known fact that reducing pollutants in the air that we depend on is a good thing. we should be encouraging our energy providers to work within their current service areas for ways in which to generate reliable energy. i think that the challenge that they will be facing from the recent announcement of an alliance to be formed between private and public interests is evolving. i think you will agree that less money going to the mideast is a good thing. getting the rest of the nations to go along will be almost impossible. Putin is not ready to give up his riches derived from the oil and gas pipelines that he essentially controls. not to tmention the Saudis...and our Politicians(Foundations).

If global climate change is man-made, then the believers of the world cannot do anything to stop it without getting China and India to agree to limit their fossil fuel use and Brazil and Indonesia to limit the destruction of their rainforests.

Facing the threat to their dominance, it would be wise for the carbon burners to have a seat at the table. The change is inevitable as nuclear, being considered clean, will end the argument for carbon energy production.....unless it is geographically impossiblem

Good morning OWO... I trust you are well. It is with some caution and mild trepidation that I agree with you regarding the subject of private monies in the development of cleaner energy. There are many unkn po was regarding any collaborative effort of the private investors and government.

The answer to it all will be a Carbon Tax, they will toss around phrases like "revenue neutral" which will be a baldface lie, but like Obamacare, by the time the lie is exposed, it will be too late

Never have answered the question : What exactly are you so very afraid of ? If theres nothing to it then fine no bodies hurt , but if theres is a problem like 98% of the educated people believe, then lets get to work! Waiting around with your head up your rump till you cant breath is not a good plan !
