Samy07: When you utter the term "big oil" it is an admission that you have no idea how the oil industry operates. Your opinion is therefore based on incomplete and faulty information, therefore worthless. Sadly it isn't something that fits into soundbites and there isn't space here for an explanation. The current inflation of gasoline prices has been caused by government intervention and the environmental industry. If you are unable to build the infrastructure necessary to produce and deliver oil products, scarcity will occur, and the price goes up.

I agree, more than one option or "cut costs everywhere" instead of elsewhere. Driving less, buying only the necessities, no vacation, no eating out. Small businesses, the heart of Marietta, may not be able to survive this one.

Should be able to choose more than 1 option. We have driven less, cut costs elsewhere and will be taking no vacation. And this is only the beginning, we haven't begun to see the full effect of fuel costs on food.

we have definitely driven less. We also stopped going on vacations 2 years ago when prices started going up. Now we buy less groceries because the cost of groceries is higher due to fuel prices AND we have to have money to get to work. My car gets 35 miles to the gallon, but it used to take $23 to fill it up. Now it takes $48. And the big oil people keep raking it in...
