I am trying to stay around here but the job market for my field is so limited it is impossible. I will have to relocate, but that isn't always a bad thing because the MOV offers little in terms of entertainment, culture, and opportunity.

I know of grads who were more than qualified but did not get hired at local businesses. Out of towners got all the jobs that I knew about. Need a favor, need gratus work, locals do all the donating. Never get the jobs. That goes for local union groups also. It is time to wake up.

Squidkid, you are right. That's exacty what I did. I left so that I could find a decent job with a decent salary in Georgia. And my plans are to come home once I retire because I know I have to have an income coming in before going home, because there isn't a decent job for a decent wage for a female with only a high school diploma. Both of my children have tried to make it in Marietta and both have left the area. Its so sad.

Unfortunatley there is very little here to keep them. It's like someone said a few weeks ago on this poll: "this is the elephants graveyard - all the natives come back to die". We relocated for jobs and when our days are numbered we return to our roots. Very sad but true.
