Prep track: Warren boys 2nd, girls 4th at SEOAL

PORTSMOUTH – Warren’s boys had a good day but Logan enjoyed a better one at Hadsell Track Saturday, downing the Al Riffey-coached Warrior thinclads 198-128 in a field of six schools.

Parker Blain paced the Warriors with wins in the 3200 and 1600. Blake Staley captured the discus and was runner-up in the shot. Both throws were personal records.

On the girls’ side, Sally Maddox-coached Warren finished fourth behind first-place Gallia Academy.

Lady Warrior standout Raelyn Gardner was the high point individual with wins in the pole vault, 300 hurdles, 100 hurdles, and 4×100 relay, which also included Danielle Church, Addie Barnes, and Josey Riffle.

Gardner set a school record in the PV when she cleared the bar at 11 feet, 1 inch.

Emma Ryan, an Ohio University recruit, was first in the discus and shot.
